It can't be Sean.  If it had been, it would have been one, breathless, multi-page post ranting about how much the anointed one sucks.

Many people on the left think that dick cheney is darth vader. In my book, the jury is still out on that. Im not on the left or right. I always vote for the person NOT THE PARTY. I do not want to piss off lord vader so Im sorry. Obama sucks.

I think that it's Rush's new girlfriend from Thailand. Read the posts with that accent in your mind.

This can be developed; a Thai accent after ingesting something exotic.

I think it's Hannity.

Speaking of Sean, would he be against military action against Assad if a Republican was in the White House? You wonder.

Juan

I don't wonder at all.  Hannity would be all in favor of it - probably in favor of ground troops, too.

There is an element of trust, depending on who is President.  Some Presidents have shown themselves to be very adept at using force, others have shown themselves to be quite incompetent when it comes to foreign affairs and in projecting military might.

There is also our experience as country of trusting Bush II, and later coming to regret it.

Now that we've had Clinton turn Bush I's mission of food delivery to Somalia into a failed effort at nation building, followed by the country as a whole trusting Bush II to do what he thought best in attacking Iraq and Afghanistan - which have turned out to be a massive mistakes - any President is going to find a higher level of skepticism.

Most recently we had Libya, which turned into a mess.  Then the events at Benghazi.  Then Egypt.  All bungled or worse.  Has Obama shown we should be confident in his decision making in Syria?  The answer is clearly:  No.

Especially since this is a military action of our choosing.  We haven't been attacked or threatened and don't have an obligation to do a thing.

So would someone like Hannity trust and support someone else?  Maybe.  Is that a double standard?  Not necessarily.

Haven't posted on the political threads in quite a while.  I offer a perhaps obvious observation today regarding -- it seems -- any attempt at regime change in the Middle East.  Are we not repeatedly going into hornets' nests and removing the queen and trying to replace her with a butterfly?  I don't think you can export democracy.  We keep bumping into hundreds, thousands of years of culture, religion, prejudice, superstition, and other things that we probably don't still fully understand.  Maybe for democracy to work, the locals have to want it, fight for it, die for it.  Can we really install a true democracy in a country where a big chunk of the locals do not want females to go to college (or even high school)?

I don't think it works that way.  That's only my opinion; I could be wrong.

Sorry SR71, you can't stand as President; It's W o t R. Nothing personal.

As for exporting it; it isn't brilliant for us. I posted this elsewhere, but it's spot on.

Pretty much matches my opinion, except I'd say we're going into nasty, dank, extraterrestrial caves and trying to replace the Predator with the Alien.
