I just received a check for $38.63 from Dreamfields pasta. Apparently, I was part of a class action suit against the company for... I haven't a clue. I just know I still use the pasta, & I love it. :-\

Supposedly they marketed as low carb when it was really just regular pasta.

Did I hear someone say Jean Claude Van Damme?   :D

Listening to EvB and MV go at it on the Spec Sheet and MV forecasting that there might possibly be a Radio Train Wreck special reunion/reboot episode in some near or distant future.

I said ~possibly~.

Don't start all that crowd funding just yet.

Jaz has already started sketching out 3 trailers and a follow-up show.

Today Eyenoeyeno and I skirted disaster. A fire broke out and burned several acres. Huge raging thing. I'm standing with a hose as the blaze headed towards my house, my son's house, and our barn. What Brings me joy are the 150 crew members of CalFire who were quickly on the scene in time to save ours, and our our neighbors properties. All we lost is a shed and our well pumphouse which is already being repaired so we should have water by tonight. But what a crazy rush of andrenalin! Two choppers, 5 airplanes, over a dozen firetrucks, a bulldozer, the whole crazy thing. I shot some crazy pics and vids donchaknow.

You could say we had a big, stressful day. But we are grateful.

So glad no one was hurt.  Only the tough survive, man!  Whew.  Fingers crossed your pump house is repaired by nightfall.

Oh man. I wish I could afford to pay these dudes. They rock! I'm definitely stopping by the station house and donating. Water's back on. Firefighters still monitoring the situation on the back 40 and will be all night. Looks like we survived.

Good to hear it's going to be OK, AB!

Wow. Glad y'all are ok and fire put out! It is crazy how quickly fire can move.

Just curious if they have reckoned the source? I'm amazed how good Fire Departments, even my small volunteer one, getting to the scene quickly and dealing with it. And also how good they are forensically figuring out what happened etc later.

Glad you and yours are okay aldous. I hope you can rebuild quickly.
Fire fighters need to be paid better. There was a huge forest fire in my hometown last summer.  The fire crews were amazing! Not a single structure lost.
For the job they do, they should be making millions. - In a perfect world.

Male fire fighters enjoy some rather nice  perks however.  Women swoon over a dude in uniform. ;) ;D

;D ;D ;D

Heh, yeah my middle son is a trained firefighter and I've seen the uniform thing work magic. Not certain of the fire source yet. It's nice to live in the woods but it's crazy when it burns.

Glad to hear things are somewhat ok. Sorry to hear :-[

Yes on this. I wanted to add my good wishes to both of you and to your homes, which are safe. I would like to think that the feng shui added to your safety, at least on one dimension. Hope you have some peace of mind as you rebuild.

Yeah, really happy to have our homes today, our kids, and running water. Heck, I'm happy just to be alive. Thanks for the good thoughts everyone.

jazmunda

I'm glad you and yours are safe.

Let me know if there's anything I can do. Even though I'm so far away I'm good with a hose.

Jackstar

Be careful, Aldous. You are very important to me.

I'm considering a donation to CalFire. Glad they were there to help AB

I am stopping by the station asap to do the same. They are not only good at what they do, but they also treated us with lots of compassion and genuine concern. Can't say enough good about them. It's actually the second time in three years that they've saved our butts when it looked hopeless.

I missed this when you posted. Glad to know everyone is OK, the well survived and you have water.  Having been there I will say I hate these wildfires, and Albrecht is right they move real fast.  Especially when it's so dry.

Receiving a letter from the "United States District Court Western Division Of Texas" and upon opening just say that I might have to serve on a jury. Whew! I was worried for a bit that I done something wrong or the iHateMedia, Inc paralegals were suing me or something!
