Autumn Leaves - Stanley Jordan

Les Paul,Los Indios Trabjares~~~~

The General

Jimmie Vaughan is my favorite living guitar player.

Aside from the old standards {Hendrix, Clapton, et al}, I'll add Alvin Lee (10 Years After), Terry Kath (Chicago), Adrian Smith (Iron Maiden), and Marty Friedman (Megadeth).  8)

ah shit I totally forgot about Marty!  Definitely better than Mustaine.  I also forgot to say Kim Thayil from Soundgarden and since you brought up Maiden we can't over look the talent that is Steve Harris... yeah i know he played bass but he wrote a ton of their stuff.  Since I just mentioned a bassist I have to also mention Les Claypool!! he's a bass god.

Yes! Steve Harris.  :D   Iron Maiden is my favorite band of all time so I'm partial to those guys.  ;)
Les Claypool is a freak.  He probabaly could play anything and play any style.  Speaking of bass guitar.....I think Mike Watt of the Minutemen/FireHose is a beast.

CoastCanuck

Alex Lifeson from Rush.  (congrats to Rush for finally being elected to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame - long overdue)
