Hoagland is doing an alright job as host, he's not all manic. This show is a bigger sedative than ambien mixed with heroin.

Hoagland played a 50 year old tape of part of a NBC radio broadcast covering the Mars Mariner space probe mission circa 1965.
Hoagland was on there as a space consultant and said he was only 19.5 years old at that time.

I got to admit, I am enjoying having this show in this time slot. It's awesome having a live alternative content broadcast going into 7 AM. But I find it hard to believe C2C are the bad guys because they couldn't give him 5 hours and shift their time slot by four hours on 600+ affiliates to accommodate this.

Yeah he was cool; I thought there was going to be some kind of convergence when Nye said we need to go to Pluto to figure out where we came from and Hoagy was like yessss....... but of course he was talking about plain old science. Also doesn't much care whether we call Pluto a planet or not (all the scientists sure called it a planet) and advocated for calling it the third solar system -- inner planets through Mars, gas giants, and "Plutoids".

Hoagland needs to do his homework. The reason there's no active signal is the spacecraft has ONE moving part (door for Alice instrument). That's it. Voyager and all the rest were on a platform that could move. On New Horizons, you either point to Earth, or you point the spacecraft to do science. Guess which one is going to be done while it's at Pluto?
