anyone know if art is out of the hospital yet or how he's doing? His health updates looked pretty bad but it was months ago.

Art, and Heather, are getting better every day.

"John Titor, that's a big "get" for Heather"....A.W. Bell

Time to move on. The dinosaur of a show might've had a chance if Art had stayed and been more innovative, breathing some fresh new ideas into it. Even Dead Air turned out to be another EVP show.
Catty gossip is something I don't need. I hope Art proves me wrong, but with his health problems on top of everything else...Time to move on like The Bell Philes did.

i felt like he was the same art bell, but the world had changed and the people helping him were thinking like it was still 1996.

i can only go on what i was..informed..at his return i had never heard him on a show and was told he was amazing..i wasnt amazed..he was a solid interview..but either the guests and subjects are all things i had heard a billion times..or political, which i hate..better than Noory..by a long shot..but also ..just more of the same and i get it..just was..let down from the build up lol

I guess it's just a coincidence that in one thread you're denying being Casio despite overwhelming evidence and in another you are linking to one of Casio's many YouTube accounts.

BINGO!

Art should have abandoned the paranormal, at least partially, and should have just had open lines. It would have been far more interesting then listening to the same topics that we have heard over and over again for the last 20 years.

The old Bell tease.

He's gone dark for too long. His addiction to drama will overpower the COPD for one last Art Bell fiasco.

Now I feel exactly opposite. I hate open lines shows and rarely listen to them regardless who the host is. In the meantime, I really love a good paranormal show, especially if it involves alien abuduction. Not so much into Bigfoot or EVPs and definitely not into any sort of Satanism or witchcraft shows though. In fact, the paranormal angle, especially ufos, is what originally got me into listening to Art in the first place. There are some good science based and conspiracy theory shows too. Depends on the guest and topic.

Clyde has been steady with current events since the days Art was doing the same, no matter if the current event was political, paranormal, scientific discovery, whatever.  Whoever suggested a completely Paranormal Network in 2016, well, I have no idea what they were thinking.  Art and Clyde are very deep thinkers.  I think they DREAM this stuff, and spend their days looking for new clues about questions they spend their mental energy thinking about.  So does John B. Wells I think.  These kind of programs don't work for hosts that don't live the questions mentally, day in, day out.  IMO.
If it's not a part of them, the show, the questions, the conversations are not authentic, and therefore, not interesting unless considered as a comedy show.

Absolutely. They must fully know and understand the essence, as well as many facts, of the subject matter or you're only going to get very lightweight Nooryesque interviews. Now if that host is of a very high caliber, as Art was back in the day, they can occasionally interview someone about a subject they know little about but it does require the host to have a willingness to do some good research prior to showtime. You know, like actually reading the guest's book.

sigh. still depressing to venture into this thread.

And this simple fact is why I can no longer listen to Noory droning through his typical "bullet point" questions.  He's just not into it, not interested in really exploring the subject of a guest just hitting the obligatory questions to bring home a pay check.

This is also why I couldn't stick around for Heather, she's just too shallow and inexperienced to make things worth listening to.

Yeah, Daddy will come home for one more disaster, at least, before he has to go for smokes again.  "Baby, the Bell must toll."

I listened to a portion of Art's show earlier while shaving.  It was from October 4, 2002 and it featured a Hollow Earth guy named Dallas Thompson.  Dallas was due to fly up to the North Pole and then down into a hole that would take him to a massive cavern/spiritual world complex.  A caller asked if he (Dallas) was concerned about entering that place where the Russians had lowered the microphone and heard sounds of Hell.  Art was happy to hear that question because it allowed him to play his Hell recording.  Dallas said that he had the recording too and Art almost had a tiff over it, thinking that Dallas took it from him but then Dallas explained that he had got it off some other website.  The guest then went on to explain that there are all manners of spiritual planes down there and yes, certain caverns where it wouldn't be wise to enter.

At one point, Art had some problems getting some answers from his guest and he asked Dallas if his (Art's) producers had contacted him before the show.  Dallas said that he had talked to one.  Art wanted to know who.  His guest said "Lisa."  Art echoed, "Lisa.  Okay."  He then asked his guest another question but before he answered it, Dallas asked, "Lisa isn't going to get in trouble, is she?"  Art answered quickly (and rater imperiously)  "I haven't made that determination yet."

Dallas never made the trip and is now pretty much forgotten.

A full paranormal network might be an idea doomed to fail.

What's more needed are shows the way Knapp and Ian do/did: mixing paranormal with other subjects like true crime, forgotten history, futurism, etc.

How 'bout that BBQ?  What goes well with grilled horse?  Horseradish?

Haha! Oh, sorry for your loss.

Let's get real folks.

Would you truly have wanted to listen to Art become a big time Trump supporter over the course of the last year? Because that's where he was headed. The show would have become more and more political to the point of being a embarrassing to listen to. Luckily we live in the good reality and weren't subjected to that.

Well, that meat is just going to rot otherwise....but horseradish?! That sounds like too much horse to me. I've never had horse before (to my knowledge) but I'd think we would want to reduce the horse, not increase it. You probably know better though, gunny. You always do. Now, shall I drop and give you 50?  :)
