Poor Pepe was born an ordinary frog, no better or worse than his peers. He really had no political views or prejudices. Then he was adopted by the alt right, who subjected him to the worst kind of frogwashing/brainwashing. And now, he is one of them. A cheerleader and mascot, no less.

Somebody posted a "Save Pepe" graphic. Frankly, it may be too late. I believe Pepe now has a swastika tattoo, which is not removable without turning Pepe into frog stew. All anyone can do is disavow, disavow any connection to Pepe.

Mind you, we must not conflate Pepe's sad journey with those of other frogs. They are wonderful creatures, as the whole world learned with those great Budweiser ads. At least, I think it was Budweiser. Doesn't matter since it was all about the frogs.

Defining the alt right is like asking for a representative of Anonymous. Only more specious because there is no such as entity as alt right.

I take offense to any dispersions you care to cast upon two words "alt right".

Please stop using those words. Words hurt. One of the keys on my keyboard is offended as well.

They have their tricks.  Tape loops and overdubbing track over track.

Even if that is how it was done, I'd say that the sound engineer(s) must have somehow known what Hell sounds like in order to recreate the effect. They probably researched it, at the very least.

Let's ask Pepe.

"Ribbit.."

Thank you, Pepe.

It certainly is an amorphous group of people which has a bigger presence in cyberspace than in realspace. Nevertheless, it exists. I can understand why someone who considers themself right-wing would be offended by the term, but is there another term in use?

I'd be happy to use it, just as long as it clearly pointed to this loose-knit group of extremist dirtbags.

Meanwhile, the photographer who took the Skittles photo is a refugee who is greatly offended by Trump Jr's use of his property. So, Pepe's Dad is far from alone.

its seems like he doesn't  really care

"In September, an article published on Hillary Clinton's campaign website described Pepe as "a symbol associated with white supremacy" and denounced Donald Trump's campaign for its supposed promotion of the meme.[15][16] When asked about this usage of Pepe in an interview with The Atlantic, Matt Furie stated that, "it’s just a phase, and come November, it’s just gonna go on to the next phase"

I associate the alt right with the dregs of the right.  Basically everything bad that gets associated with the right.  I'm happy to say that I don't particularly care for them either.

This election is so friggin weird, What is Art's stance on poor Pepe? Has Heather weighed in on this pressing issue?

Frogs do have a short lifespan, so there's that too. Except, of course, there's the fact that we are living in very strange times. Stranger than usual.

Pepe may be an escapee from that witch's boiling cauldron of boring non-sequiturs, incomprehensible sentence fragments and mispronunciations. She has given up the right to judge Pepe -- or anything else,

Robert

Quote from: Value Of Pi on September 23, 2016, 03:04:06 AMThat sounds ironic enough to be true, assuming these are actual entities. I'd be surprised if this subject never came up on the show, especially in connection with EVP. If anyone remembers an instance, please chime in.
Some time within the past year on MITD or C2C, it was stated by a guest that it is indeed plausible-to-likely that ghosts experience the experiencers the same as vice versa, and that that would be a good explanation for the spooky way some of them behave.

Pretty sure I've heard those on MITD or C2C.
QuoteWhat about happy ghosts?
At least one recording was played of children apparently playing happily.

Robert

Quote from: creepygreenlight on September 23, 2016, 02:08:16 PMBut what about all the prehistoric ghosts?  Any EVPs with just grunting and chest beating?
You haven't listened to many, have you?  That's most of them.

I really enjoyed the experiment that Art did. He said do not tell us what they're saying prior to the setup. Then they'd play it and it would be intelligible. Then they'd say (suggest) what it's saying and our minds made it so. EVPs are far more effective if were told what it's saying prior to hearing it. Mostly because our brains will cause it to sound like that.

I'm on the fence on EVPs.

Sorry MV

Still tho Praise MV...

I'm not on the fence, I think they're the product of over active imaginations.

None the less,

Praise MV!

It's not just what is being said but that something is being said.

Yup, yup, just like if you barge in on someone when they're not expecting it. All kinds of weird sounds and reactions can happen.

If this EVP thing ever really took off, cemeteries and other popular gathering places might have to post warning signs like:

Please do not scare the ghosts.

Do not spook the spooks! Violators will be prosecuted.

Well, lookie there at the TRC. Here I go and point out that the site owner is endorsing a racist meme and giving racists a home, and what does he do? He elevates the quote to TRC.

This is a prince, a man of great self-confidence and magnanimity, able to balance his tolerance for blatant racism with respect for the truth of the situation. In other words, a practical man and a businessman. What a guy.

I don't know you or care about your opinion of me. Thanks.

Could there be another reason the something is being said? Possible interference?

I mean that water one that sounded like the bathtub was really over the top. They set it up as though it sounded like someone being drowned.

Could it also be an alternate timeline rather than an entity?

I hate to be a Debbie Downer because I want to believe.
