If he embraced all the quitsy brewhaha and just quit at the end of each MITD, building up to it in creative ways... it could be incredibly funny, each and every night. When I bought my house, it had an old-fashioned squat toilet. That sucked. After four months of that I took the money allotted to the kitchen to the renovating the water closet.

There is nothing "wrong" with them, once you get used to it. And eating, etc in the country. But a weird deal, google (or startpage) it. But, basically, normal seat but a shelf underneath in which you "go" and then to flush (apparently after you inspect it according to tradition) you flush, usually a button to depress on top, and the water goes from the back, across the shelf, and then, ideally, into the hole and then into the canal...kidding. Canals are clean. ha.)

France used to have those also in many places. Dutch/German different. A shelf so you can inspect your waste. But re: squat holes. Supposedly, at least according to AM radio, "squat potty" is better for one's health?
