I guess you would have to ask his wife if she has asked him to file the report.  I don't know how corrupt the Philippines is- but it is conceivable that she is the one who has requested that they have minimum exposure to the police. Actually, there are a million different scenarios- all of which would require some knowledge of the events.

For the record- I have no inside knowledge.  For all I know, little green men have abducted Art and this is all just a cover story to explain his absence on radio and bellgab. To me, it really does not matter beyond hoping he and his family are safe and happy.

First off, I didn't ask him to do me a favor.  I told him that he could shut up a lot of skeptics by going down filing a report about the phone threat so the cops can launch an official investigation.  He wouldn't be doing me a favor; he'd be doing himself a big favor. 

And I didn't preface my request with a bunch of negative comments.  Either you have no idea what "preface" means, or you are unable to follow a basic timeline.

Besides the phone call nonsense, another thing that gave the con away was Art constantly referring to the alleged stalker as a "jerk."  Jerk?  That's what you call someone who cuts you off on the freeway, or talks during a movie, or dumps your sister for a hotter girl. You don't call someone who has tried to kill you, and threatened to kill your wife and daughter, a "jerk."

Because the jerk that was shooting and trying to get Art off the air is a friggin jerk, so Art called him a jerk! His choice of words doesn't matter.

I'll just say this as someone who has been very involved with choosing and working with "talent" --actors, actresses, announcers -- from casting through production. I understand that podcasting is different, but in the broadcast world, the actual talent of the performer has to be there from day one. It may mature and get better with experience, but there is no such thing as practicing your way to talent. You've either got it (and you're lucky enough to have someone notice) or you don't. So you can be a novice but you can't be unqualified. Sorry if that sounds harsh, but that's how it works.

Getting back to this... I would agree (hell, Noorie certainly has not improved after decades of practice.)  I just don't think that Art would turn the seat over to somebody who co-hosted the "gabcast" a few times (listened to by at least a dozen loyal listeners each week).  I may be wrong about her experience...

I don't think it is harsh... and I have not listened to her to know if she has "it" or if "it" is lacking.  I suppose we will see.  For now, I only know that she has been handed a show with a pissed off fan base on a network that will likely cease to exist in a month during a time when costs for bumper music are (supposedly) set to skyrocket.  I don't know how you make a go of it with those conditions (talent, or not.)

How happy they are is an entirely different question.  I think we can all draw our own conclusions about that.

You definitely have to respect anyone with the guts to put themselves out there. Most understand the risk they're taking, if only in terms of failure or rejection. I'm a big believer that if you have the talent and make the effort, you will succeed. And if you don't, you won't. Regardless of what anyone or their cousin thinks.

You know...I was just wondering....when I used to post updates about my show on other threads, I was descended on by what seemed like an angry flock of sex starved locusts. And it wasn't pretty.

Any particular reason for that, or was it just general hatred?

Don't get me wrong....I mean no disparagement to jazmunda at all, helping each other out here with posting our shows is perfectly fine on BellGab, I would think. Just wondering why some shows are excluded while others are not.
