The f'ing local paper and Vegas TV does features on poisoned dogs and nuisance complaints about unkempt yards, but they ignore the town celebrity being stalked by a shooter??  It doesn't fly.

Here are my thoughts regarding Art not doing his show anymore.

1.  On a positive note, didn't Art swear that his previous retirement (the one before the satellite radio gig) was absolutely the last one and that he wouldn't be back?

2.  I'm worse off than most of you when it comes to listening to Art.  I liked to hear Art plus have him broadcasting from his complex in Pahrump.  It always gave me a cozy feeling having him being out there in the desert.  Wasn't quite the same when he was broadcasting over in the Philippines.   

3.  For me, when Art was on the air, everything was all right with the world.  I've been kind a busy lately, but even just hearing Art come on and start the show was enough for me and if I didn't make it through a complete show, I always made it a point to hear Art sign off.  (A most relaxing ritual.)

4.  I'm realizing that this is coming off as a frigging obituary so I will knock it off and just wish Art and his family all the best.

5.  Will be listening to Heather but shit, nobody and I do mean nobody can fill Art Bell's shoes. 

6.  I'm a time traveler and I wish it really worked that way.  I'd go back to Wed. night and lay in wait for that gun totting asshole to show up.  Normally I'm a peaceful guy but five minutes alone with that fucker...that's all I ask!

This isn't terrorism, there is no known reason for this, nor do the authorities appear to know who is doing this. So yeah calling his terrorism is really putting the cart before the horse.

Art mentioned that (redacted) would be on the air with a Time Traveler, presumably from this site, to have someone to bounce off of. I've always liked the frenetic vibe of the Gabcast but if that's the approach to tonight's show with Heather, then this is going to flame out hard to anyone outside of BellGab. I don't see how Art can say he might host select shows in the future if he believes this is a credible threat toward his family, unless he's just trying to stem the tide of the angry messages on Facebook.

I just read Art's Facebook post and I'm not surprised. Is anyone shocked by this? I think (just my opinion) Art wanted out. And this incident gave him one. I'm not questioning Art's story. The fact is he quit, agian. I'm disappointed. That's about it. Art, keep your family safe. Good luck with retirement.

Somethings just don't sit right with any of this.

Here we have Art Bell, honored member of the radio hall of fame....one who has $$ apparently to build expensive antennas, studios, ham equipment etc. yet is not equipped with ample security equipment?

Allegedly shots are fired at/near a well known celebrity, Art Bell...yet are there any police reports? Art is not able to hire any private assistance both to determine who allegedly is perpetrating this as well as keeping himself and his family safe until resolution is obtained? Quitting is the only option?

Understandably, safety for Art and his family is paramount, however this makes no sense what so ever....atleast not to me.

Quitting again is the only recourse?

I could give 2 fucks about Art Bell right now. I like Bellgab and the people on here. Redacted was "one of us" so hell ya I can't wait to hear her host. Bateman, Jaz, Falke or any number of talented people on here, I think, would do a great job.
