We have a decision to make and I think I have made it. We can either serve our listener's and Time Traveler's or Radio Stations but not both because the stations want more Commercials. I am not going to do that. If they want to carry the show we will let them offset it to a later time but we will Not add more Commercial minutes. So what we can give them is ratings because what we are doing is clearly better in every way then anything else out there. For this reason I have said no to several big stations. I could build another big Network but then I would have what I left because it became something I could not live with. Those who do not learn from their mistakes repeat them.

Seems like the commercial stations can cover the news each hour.. and the two (three) two minute breaks at :58 and 1:58 (and 2:58) .. that gives them 4 total minutes at the top of the two hours and (how long is the news ? - three minutes?) add the three news breaks for a total of 13 minutes or twenty-six :30 spots to sell. Not bad for free.

I do indeed think the show is going well, I am starting to get more at ease with everything I have to do and it is a lot. When you run your own board it's truly a different ball game but it's the only way to be in charge of the flow of the show which is very important to me.

As always, I want to thank the members on here who have given so much support and real help, if anybody wants to complain that Bell Gab people are too vocal on the show they can stick where the Sun don't shine. The people on here are my friends. There are other Fan group sites but I owe the people here a lot.

I still hold that I was the first caller to wish you "mega-roswells" to you on the air, Art.  Mastery of your new board will come, I can certainly tell you are getting more comfortable at the help.

I still keep trying impart something unique to you. First, a studio funtion tweak idea.
How to program skype hotkeys:

Then, just map them to a usb programmable key bar, or bump bar. Something like this:

Then program and label keys to answer, hang up, ignore, decline, and any other windows functions like start skype, open a url (like your wormhole "portal", mute audio, etc.)

Then you could mount them under the shelf holding each laptop or on your board to all the commands you need per machine at arm's reach.  The key caps have a clear removable cover, so you could print each label in differenct colors.

This is probably nothing new under the sun to you, but would take you no more than an hour to set up 2 of these, less if you know exactly what layout you have in mind before you get them.

Lol, your esoteric rubber pun wasn't lost on me, gab. Hey, I'm thinking that Art is in the driver's seat here and the big stations may well come back with compromise offers. A little more ad revenue definitely couldn't hurt the chances of MITD continuing to go strong hopefully for years to come. 

I, for one, could stand another 5 or even 10 minutes of ads. I think we'd still be getting what we're getting now, which is Art at his best. (Just so long as there's no screaming lady included in the deal.)

Hmmm... to me it would depend on how many minutes of commercials they could live with.  Reaching more fans and potential fans, and potentially knocking the Snorge off the air has it's advantages, as they say

For me, the quantity of ads increasing a bit is in no way a deal-breaker. If it's five more minutes per hour of the screaming-lady, no thank you but Papa does need to pay the bills. I'd prefer to see Art blasting from flag-ship stations in EVERY major market on the planet (London station! London station! Please! Please! Please!). Principle can be a very shaky and precarious thing to stand on.... and we've all seen before what can happen, when Art goes "all-in".

A lot of radio stations are struggling, they have bills. I can live with a few more commercials for more radio affiliates.

There is a big benefit to having affiliates for the listeners it means a bigger caller base with better stories. It also means more listeners which means guest will be more willing to come on as they will each more people.

I wish Art would reconsider. I'm glad a lot of his fans on bellgab can deal with a few more commercials.

You are correct Art!  No more ads!  Commercial radio was ruined by the corporate greed of gradually increasing advertising minutes, coupled with a decrease in quality programming.  Your authentic and independent show is the new paradigm in radio.  Don't go back.

I would prefer no more commercials, myself.  It isn't the commercials themselves, after all they have to make money, it's that it breaks up the flow of the show too much.  If the radio stations want him bad enough for ratings sake then they'll take him on his terms.  That's my thought, at least.
