Oh LAWDY I got one of those PayPal "insufficient funds to pay for your Time Traveler subscription" emails this morning and had a heart attack along the lines of

"OH MY GAWD I'M SO MUCH MORE FLAT-THE-HELL-BROKE THAN I THOUGHT I WAS!"

Then I listened to last night's show and skipped around in here for a while and discovered it's a glitch.

It woke me up way more than coffee, though. Hell, I should pay Keith to send me one of those emails once a week.

Disheartened

Woke up this morning and my Time Traveller account was back and the PayPal autopay had gone through. My best guess is that it was a time zone thing.

That's why they call it Time Traveler.

Art provides three (3) hours for $5.00 monthly

What makes Hoagland think that his two (2) hour show is worth as much as Art's while only offering 2/3 rds. as much air time ?

Hoagland, were he even equal to Art -which he is not, should be charging $3.34,(or less, much less) based on Art's rate

Fearlessjay

Hoagy's show has been pretty good. Well worth the price in my opinion.

i dont think hoagland controls the price or his airtime amount.

Fearlessjay

There has been talk of Hoagie's show going up to 3 hours. And Art's is going up in price soon anyway.

anunnaki

Will RCH's extra hour include MORE phone rings ?  ;)

Art should have a show with GIS when they simply talk about here they went, their experiences there, and play the recordings.  Then do not tell Art and the listeners what they think the recordings said at all, don't plant those seeds.

Very little of it sounds like anything, until they say what it is.

I used to think they actually went out and got these recordings, but were a little over-exuberant with their 'interpretations'.  After the whole Chunga thing - especially learning his background as a recording engineer or whatever he is - I now believe the recordings are made in a studio, the 'voices' distorted just enough to need 'interpretation and carry off the gag.

If that was done, and the listeners were left to try to figure out what they'd heard on their own, I'd guess the next time they came on the show the 'voices' would be much clearer.  Meanwhile, back to Billy Meier...

Maybe God just favors the East Coast.  I have not had one break in my Time Traveler subscription, neither have I ever had a problem with PayPal.

I have to hand it to Art.  He keeps the program on a steady keel regardless of how we, in this group, try to pull him this way or that with scathing comments.  He has a strong enough personality not to be swayed by our not so typical viewpoints.

He's also right about Blanche, and I think he is sincere when he warns us, the next day, of her allure.

Look, she advocates harming others through magical energies, whether they be deserving or not.  Even with a jury of twelve we convict some innocent people.  WHat kind of society would we have if everyone punished innocent people who just happened to be in their way?  I would think that the practice of magic could bring out the negative ego in many of us, just childishly lashing out at others.  Who would want to be a part of such a thing?

I just finished downloading all of the MITD and OSOM shows. Got them all organized with descriptions in itunes and now waiting for the delivery of my new ipod some time today. I just had to share. :) LIFE IS GOOD!!!

Who knows which of the paranormal topics Art believes to be legit - surely not all of it.  Art is a curious fair-minded person - he provides a platform that wasn't really there before and seeks the interesting, the good stories, and the truth.

He himself says to listen and decide for ourselves, why would it bother him to get opinions from all viewpoints.

It must 'bother' him to know what impact the show is making, how engaging it is.  I've seen people post that they will not listen if such-and-such.  I do not believe that this group is typical of the general audience.  Sometimes I read a post and think 'I hope Art doesn't read this'.  There are some very opinionated people here, also very intelligent and persuasive.  It gives hope for humanity that we all do manage to get along.

I agree Cornycrow....suspended disbelief is half the fun!

Most people by far like the GIS shows a lot, Art knows that.

I remember him chuckling while talking about all the emails he would receive about Ed Dames, how people either loved or hated those shows.  Same with Hoagland sometimes.  Some of the topics are polarizing, others difficult to swallow - it's entertainment to a certain extent and not everyone is going to like everything.  We all think Art's great at doing it though

give it a few months... I'm seeing hoaxy asking for further donations, planning trips, selling tickets to his dog and pony shows... maybe starting a torsion physics dating site.

He also makes a market in used Bulova Accutron watches.

Agreed:  We all agree Art is doing a great job....he is in top form.  He is once again stimulating debate and entertaining us.  Can't ask for more.

Now this is just in poor taste!

$5 seems like a low risk. I don't have to keep it if I don't like it. I like Saucy Rossy's work so I figured it was a way to support his efforts as well. I always liked his whole 'face on mars' thing, whether it's true or not, and let's face it most of us who listen know this is all entertainment!

Thanks Pbs!

Have some really cool guests/shows coming up.

You are very welcome.  I haven't caught all of Hoagie's shows but have enjoyed the ones I have.  He's quite the character, of course, but he's made a much better host than I expected.  Last night with Dean Haglund was very entertaining.  It certainly got me reved up for the return of the X-Files.  I also learned they're apparently pondering doing more than just 6 new episodes.  Please make it so!

I agree.

Hoagie has put out some really great, refreshing "radio" IMHO.

Let's remember folks, he was born in 1945...same year as Art, so that makes him 70 years young/old. He's doing this show 3:00 a.m EDT/12:00 a.m. PST.

Before those who throw rocks, give the show a listen. I think you'll be surprised at what you hear.

I hate to say this, but I have enjoyed some of his crazy shows more than I have enjoyed MITD....go figure....wanna take a different kind of ride??

Hoagland's totally worth a listen. He's like a mystifying Jekyll and Hyde in that he can turn off RCH and go into Dick Cavett mode and pull off decent, informed interviews within an entertaining, quirky framework. I don't buy a single theory of Hoagland's, but I wouldn't change a thing about his show.

I am legitimately suffering the effects of sleep deprivation thanks to RCH. His "BRRAAAAAP, Bellgab" acknowledgement last night (to Dean Haglund, no less) had me practically in tears I was laughing so hard.
