I only reported one post.

This shows remarkable restraint considering how many times the link "Report to moderator" appears on each and every page.

MV must love that link. It gets more exposure than the name of the site.

The joke is that "Report to Moderator" goes to an unread email box.

One day, I'll be interested in a full debrief on everything I've ever gotten away with, but I think finding out all that now in one go would ruin my delicate balance of shameless pandering and effervescent joie de vivre.

And add to that that you are also our bon vivant of bellgab threads and our sommelier of sarcasm.  Love you, bro.

Generally new folks are welcome and I've noticed much less of the hierarchical b.s. between old timers & newbies you see on other boards.  I know MV loves new people signing up.  However they will immediately be held accountable for whatever they say, for better or worse - there is no 'grace period'.   ;)  Btw welcome flimflam.

No shit.  We bad.  No shit.

New members are a good thing. It was starting to smell like a poorly run retirement home in here with all these crotchety old farts.

Is it that time of the month again?  Line them up outside, get the hose.

Here.  Have a piece of 'Juicy Fruit.'

Not to imply that you are a juicy fruit.

Juicy Fruit.....not that there's anything wrong with that!

I only reported one post.   And it was to inform MV that I would be posting pictures of happy interracial couples, and detailed reviews and links to cheesy interracial dirty pulp fiction Ebooks on Amazon.com in the antisemitc and racist stormfront radio thread.

There are far worse things than getting banned or your thread deleted.   You could have to deal with me.   :)
Look, bro.  I know we were drinking....but if you just keep your hands to yourself.  It'll be cool.

There is a legend that all the reports for every online forum in the world are mysteriously transfered to a Comadore 64 which is thrown into a woodchipper.

They go to the same place that all of the Biros (pens) go to in Hitch Hikers Guide to the Galaxy

No doubt...there are actually a large number of planes that go missing each year over LAND! Let alone the vast expanse of ocean...the bigger mystery is what made it go off course, run out of fuel and plunge into the ocean...THAT is the really mystery...
NOVA did a special on this flight.  They showed the change in the flight plan on a map.  There seems to be little argument about it being human intervention that flew the plane off coarse.  The optimal time was chosen at the gap between the end of tracking by Malaysia and the pick up by who - Viet Nam?  Anyway, that plus the pretty much hairpin turn which headed the plane into an almost opposite direction of its course seems not to be accidental.

Two young men were on board who hailed from Iran, I believe - which may mean nothing, but the production mentioned them.  I presume they gathered as much background on passengers as possible, so that the mention may imply something.

The interesting thing is that there is a Utube (said by NOVA, I did not look this up) that gives some interesting info on that plane.  Although the pilots can lock their door, in the passenger section floor there is a hatch that allows you down into a small room filled with electronics that can enable a person to cut off outgoing communications, cut off the cockpit control of the ship, and will enable a knowledgeable person to steer the ship.

The production mentioned that there are vast areas over the ocean which are not covered by radar, and much land area which is not covered.  There is a sizeable area of the US and a huge chunk of Canada not covered by radar.  It mentioned that there are technologies that could easily prevent this but out of laziness or stinginess of the fairly low cost, these things are not included in plane manufacturing.

You can watch the NOVA program 'Why Planes Vanish' on their website.  I must warn some here, that it is on a dreaded-by-some PBS station.

Would love for you, Astro and AO to call in!

I've also noticed some new advertisers on MITD...Lear Capital last night...I imagine that once numbers start rolling in, more and more of the larger radio advertisers will start showing up on Art's show...

Just watched the scariest, most intense damn show ever.  Nuclear Meltdown Disaster on Nova on PBS.  It's almost a minute by minute account of Fukashima.  Excellent

Thanks for the welcome.     :)  Speaking for myself, I didn't come here to cause trouble.  I came here because it looked like a fun place to post while Art does his show, and not have to check my brain in at the door.  So far that has proven mostly true.  I hope I'm not messing up anybody's vibe.   ;D
No problems here, I'm just annoyed at those who are unleashing with the personal attacks like it's going out of style.

Awesome, some great topics set for tonight.  I'll be here (maybe), but definitely listening live unlike last night.

Actually, and MV will be pissed with me for telling you this, but I get all the reports to the moderator. I then go through them and file them in order of importance.

Almost two weeks into Art's new show and no RSS feed for subscribers. It is a pain in the goddamn ass to listen to this show if you don't hear it live, and that shouldn't be the case for someone who is actually paying to listen.  It is 2015.  Every podcast has an RSS feed.  If you don't have an RSS feed, then you don't have a podcast.  You're just pasting links to audio files on a page and password protecting it.  The current setup is, frankly, dog shit.

Keith, I hope you're reading this.  I'd email you directly about the matter, but I find it impossible to believe you haven't already fielded zillions of similar complaints via email so I don't want to pile on.  It's just that it seems RSS should have been such a fundamental part of the rollout.

I get it.  Keith is busy.  He has a lot on his plate.  Totally understood.  However, getting the show to the listener is paramount.  Nothing is more important than that.

sorry to cross post, but i wanted to shine some attention on this and increase the possibility it is seen by people who can get things done.  this RSS situation has me going nuts.  i've only heard one show from beginning to end because it's such a pain in the ass to hear the archives.

I only listen regularly to one other commercial podcast, WTF. It is seamless. Granted it is usually an hour or so and only twice a week tops. But it is easy to use.

Oh boy, this guest looks good.!  I have enjoyed all of the shows so far, and I think Art is at his best.  I love the podcast option.  If not for the podcast, I might have had to quit my day job.:)   MITD has been a blast so far, and I find that every time I hear Crystal sing, I like it more.

He was good with Norry but, like everyone, will be much better with Art and his questions and ability to not interrupt at inopportune times. Speaking of which wasn't that the show where Dave first came up with some escalator to the top of a volcano and also "big hole at the bottom of the ocean" and other inane ideas (and kept bragging about his new Hawaiian studio?)
