Man, it seemed like Yetti was going to be around forever. Sorry for your loss, Art.

RoseGirl

So sorry to hear about Yetti, Art. I lost a cat the same way...in my arms....and it's hard. But, you know what...they stay with us, they really do. It been years but I still see mine from time-to-time, just out of the corner of my eye, up on the bookcase or sitting next to me on the couch. Or feel him jumping up on the bed. It's strange, but the love doesn't stop. Nor should it.

My condolences. We had a Cat who lived to be about 22 yo. He outlived all of our other animals, including my husband

So sorry Art. They truly are best friends.

Very sorry to hear, Art.
Losing a pet is hard but putting one to sleep is devastating.  Condolences.

Dear Art.

I am so sorry you lost the old man, Yetti.  I remember when you got him.  You took pictures of him in the box your C. Crane Telescope came in.  Your telescope, Yetti's box.  He reminded me of my Cat Simba, same color, similar expression. Simba passed May 1, 2003.  Maybe Yetti and Simba will meet on the other side of The Rainbow Bridge.

Good bye Yetti.  You will be missed.

Condolences, Art.

Yetti was a good cat. A redundant phrase to be sure, because I've never met a bad cat. I don't believe there is such a thing.

(I've come across some terribly aggressive dogs though. But it's rare.)

I'm not particularly superstitious, and my travels along any supposed left hand path (or any path) are sporadic, though interesting to examine with logic and the proper sense of adventure.

But I've always had a soft spot for the tradition/belief of a cat being a familiar. They connect in a different way than canines.

If you're an average/normal human, a pet's death (dog or cat or whatever) can be devastating because they are, in every sense of the word, "innocent." This is why they are like children. I don't know why it's so difficult for some humans to grasp, but that's it in a nutshell. The innocence.

At the drop of a hat, I could easily name off fifty celebrities, CEOS, politicians, etc, I would rather see croak than even an unnamed stray cat to leave. It's an elevated circuit to which I happily apply current.

Yes, Yetti was a good cat. Of that, I have no doubt.

That study sounds really familiar actually. And its exactly what I'm talking about. Billions of dollars would be lost. There is no damn way anything will be cured. Susan B. Komen. People bend over backwards to donate to them. The founders are loaded and maybe 5% of donations go to cancer research. The rest goes into their pockets. Its an ugly business and it pisses me off to no end.
Yeah, I'm hearing the same about quite a few other 'causes.'  Hell, I even heard that most funds for the Wounded Warrior goes to admin type fees.  I keep hearing that the Salvation Army is one of the best to give to.
