hey MV have you or Keith been following this new "license" fee being charged by Apple Music and Spotify? 10$ per month to cover unlimited streaming music from "most" artists. I hear the artists are bitching because they aren't seeing their money. LoL Is that some law or is it just a money grab by some streaming companies? Anyway, just wondering how that effects Art's show, if at all.

I believe that $10 a month streaming of almost all music is just a personal listening thing and not a rebroadcast to hundreds/thousands/millions type of thing. Think of it like having a Netflix subscription but with music. You wouldn't be able to start up an internet tv station and use those movies and tv shows from Netflix even though you've paid your subscription. As MV said it doesn't relate to Art's situation at all.

The reason some artists like Taylor Swift are up in arms is because Apple are offering users a 3 month unpaid trial period and during that trial period the artists will not see a dime no matter how many times their music is heard.

The reason Taylor Swift was upset was because what Apple proposed to do is illegal.  Apple cannot play licensed music in a public performance without paying license fees.  Art says he will be paying the fees.

Sadly, fins and the stigmata prevent any kind of tasteful jazz hands performances (and makes it a bitch to eat M&M's). But I do still know how to jump through hula hoops from my Sea World days if that helps.

I happened to be in Arizona when Hale-Bopp passed through. It was astonishing to see it under those conditions, millions of stars, the comet prominent with two tails. There's just nothing quite like a perfect dark sky location.

Sigh, I lived in Colorado during the years leading up to climax of  Hale-Boop .... many fantastic evenings outside of Evergreen CO -- viewing the comet and the stars .... delightful memories 


(this was also the era that I started listening to Art .... wow, is it really almost two decades)

I was in Temecula, CA....had a great view as the street lights were all amber since we were right next to the Palomar Observatory...just out under the stars in my Nikes, eating my chocolate pudding...
