That is a PRINTER. I am not ashamed of my Fax days or my BBS days before that, we were first.

Art

I am however ashamed of faxing you some religious dogma tripe back in my "born again" days.

I would love the FAX if it came back. I get progress.. but it just seems natural to hear Ross (hopefully?) announcing the fax line with the other numbers.

Careful Art, you could be causing an AM Radio resurrection.

It's just like the last scene in 2001 A Space Odyssey!

I agree Art, you were cutting edge back in the 90s! First I'd ever heard of a chat forum for a show that was broadcasting live.

Is that the clock Art refers to as an "atomic clock"?

I think so.

Art Bell

Yes that clock is hooked to the Net and the atomic servers. First saw it during a visit to Radio France International in Paris and damn near ripped it off the wall, finally found the people who make it and now own (3).

Speaking of clocks, I loved your rant about daylight savings time and having to reset 50 clocks.

Also I know you love the movie Contact. Have you read the book? It is much better than the movie.

Nor should you be ashamed. Some of the greatest calls/segments originated from a fax received.

One of my favourite faxes was the fax you received about the guy who found seeds in the personal belongings of his deceased grandfather. He planted the seeds and the plant eventually overtook his whole garden and when the plant bloomed the "flowers" looked and smelled of rotting meat.

Even if that fax was boloney, pardon the pun, it was written and retold extremely well and fit the mood of a late/overnight program.

Bring back the fax.

Again it was not intended but wow, KERN in Bakersfield,CA just announced they will carry the show, my goodness it's getting crazy!

I think AB has underestimated his popularity. As well as the need for QUALITY overnight radio.

Can you just imagine the amount of paper Art's fax machine used? He has said on many occasions that his fax was ringing and receiving faxes 24 hours a day.

Along with Arizona those of us in Indiana didn't have to deal with DST up until a number of years ago, and any time "gained" by it was lost running around resetting all the clocks in the house. It is terrible, and I'm glad the computer does it on its own.

I think abolishing the time change makes sense in the southern states, but not in the northern ones or in Canada.  The days are simply too short in the winter and too long in the summer not to adjust for it.  You would either end up spending half the morning in darkness during the winter, or being woken up by the sun at 4 a.m. in the summer.

Haha, you have good eyes to spot the heating pad, I have a Chevy Tahoe SUV and it has heated seats and I figured out that after a drive I felt better then before I left, that's why I have that pad on the chair.

I want to abolish clocks! Fine for trains, planes, etc schedules for safety concerns. Otherwise get rid of them. Work should be done until the job is finished well and good. You should eat when your hungry, not based on a time. It is dark- go to sleep (or in a some weeks turn on Art Bell.) It is light- wake up and go to work. At minimum abolish clocks, in items and appliances for which they aren't necessary. One blackout or spike means, now, you have to reset so much crap around the house. Why does even my microwave and oven (!!) need to know the current time or greet me with a "welcome to your microwave" flashing message because a storm knocked out power??

Art just has to mention his Chevy Tahoe for me to start imagining dust, sun, the open range...  No wonder Art is a good story teller.  He's the man you expect him to be.

I think GIS got fake once Chunganobunga got involved. After all he is a dj with a computer, and I bet he doctored up some audio clips.

Chunga addressed this issue on Art's Dark Matter broadcast. He said that because he is a DJ he has Brendan edit his EVP recordings
