"people" and "many complain" All I saw was ONE idiot (White Crow) bitch about the shortwave sample you gave while MANY others commented on how damn cool it was - me included. And the earlier comments about "AM crackle/static" were purely in nostalgic jest.. If this post of yours was not also in jest may I respectfully request you grow a thicker skin...  or take a breath or three. I would have thought your skin had already acquired a leather-ish quality by now.

I'm not into shortwave at all, but am looking forward to hearing Art's show streaming on the internet, and the ability to play shows that I missed listening to live (due to Real Life Intrusion) by paying $5 a month.  Deal of the century!

I first listened to shortwave at 4 years old with my dad on and old Grundig Majestic 7080. Personally, I'd listen on shortwave and still pay the 10 bucks!!

If it really is broadcast on short wave, I will have a "new" item of necessity for the trailer... While camping, I could try to pick up cell service to pull in Art, or I could go to something a little more reliable.  And a quick check of the local for sale site tells me that there are several quality vintage sets available locally...

Sorry Art.  My comment about AM radio was simply to offer my personal view that the audio quality of the new program need not be competitive with concert hall quality music stations.  I was attempting to be helpful, but realized after your response that given all the time and care you've put into preparing a quality audio experience, it came across as offensive.  I know many discerning listeners will find a great deal of joy in it.  Once again I extend my apologies.

I think he should use the chase cos that is arts theme.  When art dies the GIS will get EVPS of the chase on thier recordings and know it Art lol. That song is just perfect for him.

If they miss the old am audio, id suggest a downconversion on the user's end
I personally dont care if its some old realaudio out of one speaker, or some lossless masters.   Just as long as that bigfoot scream isnt over/undermodulated

Piracy: Let me say again that if somebody ran our Stream live same time as we were doing it from some Country, some Stan or another they would just be saving us bandwidth, but if they did it at any other time that would cost us money or if they put the Podcast up that would cost us money.

In the other cases like UTube, well that has to be stepped on.

There still really isn't a great way to stop pirating after the fact. It WILL happen. I have no problem with the $5/month (especially considering we get the autographed photo riiiiiighhht?), but I don't see you stopping piracy. It WILL happen. The best advice I can give is to monetize it he best you can & don't give a reason for people to pirate. Put the show on Youtube (without music) and let people listen there. That way, you will get some revenue from your Youtbue channel.

Just a thought.

BTW, with that radio station stepping up to maybe broadcast your show, have you thought about KNYE as well?
