Fantastic ! LOVE IT GREAT IDEA!!!!

I hope Art and Keith set it up so we can do as NXOEED proposed, "A donation has been made in your name to Midnight in The Desert..." with a complimentary email sent to the honoree.  It's time to give back to Dave all he's given to us.  Teeheeheeheeheehee.

Also I think I might have put the impression out there that I thought it was ok for people to pirate the show "before" paying for it.  In no way was I suggesting that.  I just disagreed with Keith as it being the "only thing" we can do to help the show's development.
I think that you raised valid points and did not get the impression that you were unabashedly pro-pirate.  You took the time to explain the differences and where some kinds of piracy existing on a certain level have always been beneficial to most copyrighted works.  It makes for very interesting conversation and may force people to reconsider their existing views on the subject.

The problem arises when corporations look at each download as a lost sale when the person would most likely have never considered buying the product (song or DVD boxed set or whatever...)  It is complex, and I think that you presented it as such.  Considering your body of work and the people you work with, I have to assume that you probably have given the subject quite a lot of thought.  I would be interested to hear you call in again for a longer, planned segment / debate on the gabcast.

Now you have so many people posting their own works in the hopes that others will share it as it is the best way to get exposure if you have none.  The hope being that enough people will like it and a percentage will purchase it... Anyhow, possibly my favourite, little known artist (yes, I do have her CD's as well...) I figure that she sounds like Joan Jett (at least live.)

THREE (COUNT THEM 3) ITEMS FROM THE SCORPION ARMY HEADQUARTERS, TONOPAH, NEVADA:

1. HERES SOMETHING FROM THE SCORPION ARMY ARCHIVE, TONOPAH, NEVADA (RIGHT BEHIND THE CLOWN MOTEL):
MANY OF YOU ARE FRUSTRATED ABOUT NOT HEARING ART BELL, YET HAVE NOT HEARD ALL OF THE "DARK MATTER" SHOWS
HERE IS THE TOTAL ARCHIVE OF THE SHOWS FROM YOU-TUBE; https://www.youtube.com/user/DMArchive

2. MANY OF YOU MAY HAVE NEVER SEEN TONOPAH, NEVADA! HERE IS A QUICK TOUR OF THE TOWN (I REALLY RECOMMEND
WHITNEY'S BOOKSHELF, NICE FUN LITERATE PEOPLE THERE!); https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tKzA7O1px24

3. I HAVE ALWAYS LIKED THE "HUNGRY EYE" SYMBOL OF CBS, AND WOULD LOVE A LITTLE ODE TO THE DARK MATTER ERA OF
ART BELL. HOW ABOUT A 'MIDNIGHT IN THE DESERT" HUNGRY EYE, THAT SHOWS WHAT YOU CAN REALLY SEE IN THE NIGHT
SKY OUT HERE IN THE DESERT? HERE'S SOMETHING THE PROPAGANDA MINISTRY REALLY LIKES!

OK... so I listened to the gabcast. The internet gods were making sure I could not get the stream.

Compared to other emergency gabcasts this was a snoozefest. And thank god for that.

So we're no longer attacking Art, I presume because his show is coming soon. Now we are attacking Keith. But we've stopped attacking Keith because he and Art made all friendly and shit.

Keith who was brutally vilified for bumping the Spec Sheet off Dark matter, now is having his ample (but cute) buttocks kissed for access to the Dark Matter Network. Presumably so the Spec Sheet can rise above 26 listeners.

There's just no news here. Nothing changed.

(Note... this is an attempt to troll. It's a bad attempt. But consider the fact that earlier I was posting without any clothes on)
drink some tekillya . that always helps people troll better.

But how did that translate into Keith being back working with Art and his return? I need deets!

The Keith and Art bit happened before that, they had a chat about everything but Keith called into Gabcast last night and had a lovely chit chat with the crew...and he told us his start with Art!  It was pretty cool!

Thanks to everyone on this Forum...makes it fun waiting for Art! I can't believe all the hard work you put into this fan website! Amazing...

Piracy: Let me say again that if somebody ran our Stream live same time as we were doing it from some Country, some Stan or another they would just be saving us bandwidth, but if they did it at any other time that would cost us money or if they put the Podcast up that would cost us money.

In the first case of course it would be wrong but not a darn thing we could do, right?

In the other cases like UTube, well that has to be stepped on.

BTW Just heard from a 100,000 watt short wave station on 5085 that would like to carry the show, now that might be fun!

Oh yeah, hit the short wave, Art.  How sweet it is.

Art, with an inexpensive beginners shortwave set from C Crane, how would reception be over s.w.?

Its more about the antenna, the frequency, the time of day and current solar activity than it is the radio. Just about any SW radio can hear fine. A long wire, gutters on your house, etc will work.

NXOEED

Shortwave would be amazing, a lot more fun than AM. I still make Cuban broomstick antennas and take my radios out at night to see what I can pick up.

This right here is all you need (and the radio, of course).

and the SW will eliminated the ideas others have had to "add" interference n chatter listening to the MITD for an "old school" feel....like in the days when we all first heard Art on AM somewhere on the road, in the desert, at home, etc late at night and had to "tune it in" and wondered "what the heck" and then "how awesome!" I can't wait for new show!!

I see that WTWW is a shortwave station licensed to Lebanon, Tennessee and one of their 3 transmitters broadcasts at 100KW on 5085Khz at night starting at 7pm  to 9am Central time 7days/week. ;)
They also have 24hour webcast streams.

In fact, you don't even need to go this far.

Here's a picture of my shitty bicycle. All I did was wrap phone wire around the handlebars and throughout the frame. Find a high point and cap it off with a metal paint can lid for noise reduction. I've got a little mount for my shortwave behind the basket. I pick up everything. Cost me nothing (I picked the cord out of a dumpster) and comes in great.

Nancy Birnes is live right now on the Skywatchers Radio show on Dark Matter Network telling the tale of what happened on bellgab the last few days, telling about MV and Keith, Art and Noory's recent posts here...

MV

You need to get ur daughter to do a promo for Midnight in the Desert. Art played someones kid back in 2001 or so. Cant remeber that kids name.

This is Midnight in the Desert with Art Bell on Dark Matter Radio Network.

Site got hacked over the weekend while MV was away in some remote location, GabCommunity flipped out and congregated at the e-fallback house, an emergency Gabcast was held, MV came back and fixed it, another Gabcast was held, everyone thought we were out of the woods, then Keith quit, then Keith unquit, another Gabcast was held, Keith called in, all is well.

And Falkie was late, so he didn't get his interview with George Noory

Dreamland is only the first hour. The other half is for people who donate to whatever it is Whitley needs money for.

Man. I like the development. Especially since some of the WWCR host(s) controversies/lawsuits and the, sorta, made-up Cooper/Art feud (one-sided, mainly, though there were some barbed comments back in the day- but not even really, more a listener feud.) I always wanted Art on SW and so awesome when it happens!!! I can't wait!

I love listening to the very best of Art Bell on U7 Radio, but I think they might have a slight problem. I woke up to hear this squealing coming from my speakers. Sounds like a tape reel that is on high speed. Thought I just needed to refresh so I did... but it still sounded like it. Some strange stuff. Wonder if Noory has something to do with it?
