I'm going to ride in the back of the Prius as I'm enough of a gentleman to let Patty ride up front with Kathy.

Art Bell

FEATURED KEYNOTE SPEAKER ART BELL

The master of UFOs, fringe science and conspiracy theory ART BELL is back!

His radio show midnight in the desert will begin July 2015

Art was the co-creator of the hugely successful "Coast to Coast AM" retired from his full-time role of master of the macabre in 2003, after 15 years. Over that span, he went from mainstream talk to a highly successful foray into unexplained phenomena, turning the syndicated juggernaut into the most listened to overnight show in North America. In 1996 Bell appeared in an episode of the NBC science fiction series Dark Skies as William S. Paley, head of CBS. On September 30, 1998 NBC's Today Show aired a taped segment of reporter Fred Francis interviewing Bell. Francis questioned Bell about Hale-Bopp, Area-51, eccentric callers claiming to be "six-fingered alien hybrids" as well as the UFO sighting experienced by Bell and his wife Ramona. The segment also featured members of Bell's audience reacting to topics being discussed.  In 1999 Bell appeared as himself on the series Millennium. The episode called "Collateral Damage" aired in the third season and dealt with a former U.S. soldier who claimed the government he fought for was indeed responsible for horrendous tests on soldiers and Iraqi civilians. (This episode was broadcast on January 22, 1999. The Washington Post, 1-22-99.)

In 1999 Bell was interviewed on Larry King Live. (This was broadcast on March 5, 1999. The Washington Post, 3-5-99.) Progressive rock band Tool's 2001 album, Lateralus, featured a track entitled "Faaip de Oiad" (Enochian for "The Voice of God"), which includes a clip of the "distraught and terrified" Area 51 employee call from September 11, 1997. In 2005 Bell and then-wife Ramona were featured on the ABC news special: Peter Jennings Reporting: UFOs - Seeing Is Believing, which reported on the entire scope of the UFO experience, from the first famous sighting by Kenneth Arnold in 1947 to the present day. (This was broadcast on February 24, 2005. The Washington Post, 2-20-05.) In 2005 snippets of Bell and callers to his show were featured on the song "Conspiracy Radio" on Sean Hogan's album "Catalina Sunrise": Bell is credited for "voice overs" on this track. In 2006 Bell was featured in the video game Prey and played him. He hosts, as in real life, Coast to Coast AM, and the player is able to listen to the broadcast at several terminals throughout the game. The broadcasts describe what is happening on Earth as the game unfolds. The game plot centers on a massive space ship and alien abductions. Bell receives a number of calls about people who have seen smaller craft as they abduct people. The protagonist is one of these people and listens to the radio while on the space ship. In 2007, Bell appeared as himself in the movie I Know Who Killed Me.

Bell has written, or co-written, several books. They include The Quickening: Today's Trends, Tomorrow's World; The Art of Talk (an autobiography); The Source: Journey through the Unexplained; The Edge: Man's Mysterious Past & Incredible Future; and The Coming Global Super storm (co-authored with Whitley Strieber), which became the basis for the popular movie, The Day After Tomorrow.

Wow, somebody is selling tickets on a false premise, I only told him I would think it over and he should call me back which he has not done, not smart.

Not very smart!

Immediately reminded of Reed assuming he'd have an appearance on MITD.  Hard to tell if people are simply excited or trying to take advantage. Probably both.

phil hendrie does a good one of him

Yep Ross Mitchell, Art, Igor, and General Johnson Jameson all performed by one man.  Comedy gold indeed.

Art I wouldn't trust this Conference at this point... that's wrong to sell tickets in a false pretense manner like that. And chances are you'll see Lisa Garr in yoga pants ...
avoid the new ages at this junction.

You can't get much shadier than that considering the prices that are being charged, and if someone forked over so much cash with the hope that you would be there... and you are not would be messed up.

Art Bell

Those people are nuts, I never agreed to do that, some guy I could barely understand called me and asked me about it, I told him to call me back because I had to think about it, he never did. Moreover I never signed any agreement or even got one. I have sent email's to every addy I could find on their site. They are doing false Advertising. Bad

I 100% agree! Look at all the interest and entertainment it provides! :-)

I love coming here and seeing new posts from both George and Art. They're in the business of entertaining people, and I'm thoroughly entertained by this.

I prefer Art to George, but I don't hate the guy. He hasn't stabbed me, burned my house down, or tried to have my pets killed. He hosts a show. He's doing a thing that's supposed to make me happy. Art's show is, was, and always will be superior, but that isn't George's fault.

Art is a rare talent. Listening to him is like listening to music. There's a rhythm and a cadence to his interviews that nobody else is capable of duplicating. I can't blame George for that. It's like hating a bicycle for failing to become an airplane.

They have an event on Facebook which has 20 people listed as attending. The prices range from 55 to 459 dollars for a luncheon with all guest speakers. There is a Twitter account to for some guy named Saeed David Farman.

Art, I googled .. and there is a big flashy website about it ... with you as 'featured guest speaker' on their front-page, maybe there are some other phone numbers / email addresses you can use to find the folks in charge of all this (on the site)  ...
here is the link I found.

Seems like a tactic to strong-arm you into appearing. You say you'll think it over, they throw your photo up on the site and people begin buying tickets. Then they can say "How can you back down and disappoint these people?"

It's pretty despicable.

Seems more like fraud to me. I wonder how many of the other guests that will be there via Skype, or otherwise are actually really going to be there... I mean if they are going to lie about Art why not everyone else/

That web site and its event has amateur huckster and new-age quack written all over it. The site itself looks like a circa 1995 site and the content is extremely poorly done. How can an event have "over 50 keynote speakers"?? Isn't a keynote speaker a singular esteemed authority on the subject of a conference?

That event reeks of something Joorch would be at with salivating Tommy by his side.  ::)

Who knows, Art. Could be simple wishful thinking or someone plying your good nature, hoping you would't back out. It is remarkably stupid no matter how it is parsed.

HK-50

This event looks like something tailor-made for George and RCH.

George could astound the audience with his Elvis covers, while Richard engages them in a 7 hour lecture entitled "19.5 and You".

Jorch just did the luxurious San Mateo event center, he would scoff at the idea of appearing at a Holiday Inn.  ::)

Whitley Streiber just threw in his two cents on the topic "It's why I never say I'll think about it."
