Hens teeth ground into a fine powder and applied with frog wings, while praying to Goatse.
That has helped my back before. Just sayin'.

Open lines will be fun but I feel like on the first show back it has a danger of turning into a barrage of welcome back Art calls, which isn't all that entertaining after a while. On the Sirius/XM show it also felt like this place, as much as I enjoy it, had way too much of a presence. I'd rather not hear "Mega 51s from Bellgab!" again, but maybe that's just me.

I think we need to be ready for open lines being fairly weak, especially at the start. It will take some time to build the listener base back up. Also, many people like myself live in the east coast. Staying up late every night for the live radio show is simply not an option.

U7 Radio strikes back

Here is a link to U7 Radio's playlist.

Awesome and it's great that they are making a stand. I am going to call I-Heart Radio and tell them that I will never listen to another one of their affiliates again because of the way that they treated Art.

U7 is so important to Premier that they had a para-legal write the letter? Really?

Not so fast.

Here is the July 2013 press release announcing George's contract extension.  They seem to think very highly of George:

http://www.allaccess.com/net-news/archive/story/120381/george-noory-renews-long-term-coast-to-coast-am-de

“The continued growth and success of COAST TO COAST AM is a testament to GEORGE’s incredible talent and dedication,” stated JULIE TALBOTT, President/Content And Affiliate Services for National Media Groups, CLEAR CHANNEL MEDIA AND ENTERTAINMENT.  “Each year, GEORGE takes COAST to COAST AM to new heights, and we couldn’t be happier to extend our partnership with him for years to come.”

So I don't think they would be too concerned about Art or anyone else.

Unless Julie was lying
Losing 12M listeners is growth? Do these guys write press releases for the Obama Administration as well? flmao

Didn't George fall off the wagon?

Maybe he needs to do that, haha. I think it is safe to say that Dave lives in some type of bizarro world where everyone keeps patting him on the back, and telling him he is doing a good job... and he think it is true. The sauce may also help him take better command the English language. Last night was pretty bad.

Just so you guys know, as if you didn't by now, I do have a awful back. I did burn a pole. When you do that for a living it's like this your up on a pole and if it's not in great shape you can cut out. At the instant that happens you have two choices, hug the pole on the way down picking up splinters of wood as you go or push off which is what I did and hit the ground on my ass and elbow. L4andL5 are compacted and now that I am older full of old guy stuff. So yes I have a really bad back, at worst can't move, at best can't stand long periods or walk as far as I would like without stopping for a rest. All backs are like little snowflakes so please do not tell me what you, your friend or somebody did to feel better, I have tried it all. Doc says no Surgery for me, live with it.

Have you tried acupuncture and, or inversion table? Yoga does wonders Art. I have spondylosis between L-4 and L-5 and a slipped disc in my lower back. All of these activities allow me to lead a pretty active life still and I am able to run 2 miles three times a week. And I am almost 59. Physical therapy is another option.

Noory cannot handle anyone telling him the TRUTH. He said I went ballistic after he asked me MY opinion about shutting down ( my words ) - cease and desist ( his words ) U7 when what I did is give him a series of logical arguments for leaving the stream alone AND that the old AB streams may well be considered in the public domain since Art at one time gave his de facto permission to copy them, etc. long before Premrat owned any rights to them.
He's so used to having the yes men around him and the callers tell him how great he is that he believes his own bs that He has 600 stations built on Art's foundation as if it was all done solely by Noory.
I made a typo above that is so appropriate I'm going to post it after having corrected it.

Coast and desist.

Whether I feel back pain coming on, or if there is a sudden event to cause it I take a couple of Aleve's and ice it.  The ice reduces swelling at the sore spot

I have a flat plastic ice sheet with squares filled with liquid that I keep in the freezer.  Put down a towel, then the ice pack, then lay on it wearing a t-shirt for 10-12 minutes.  Repeat every few hours, as needed.  It's really cold at first but you get used to it.  Even better is to alternate doing that and taking a hot shower.

Yes, ice helps me at times.  I injured my back years ago and it comes and goes.  I was surprised how well capsacin works for me at deadening the pain.  A little goes a long way and it's cheap.  Just don't get it in your eyes.

A sitz bath in Gulden's Spicy Mustard and Clorox is restorative and probably will cure back problems as well.

     You're welcome for the advice.

I think everyone's back injuries are unique to them and what may work for one person may not work for someone else.
When I fell down the stairs a spot on my lower back hurt so much when I walked afterwards that at times I would scream from the pain. Being young and not knowledgable, I didn't know about lawsuits and didn't go to the doctor for it for along time. Just tougher it out. Kathy would have to make a fist and press hard as she could on my back to help lessen the pain.
After I fell in December my back hurts twice as bad and now I have continual pain at the bottom of my right rib cage. The doctors examined and x rayed me and said I sprained both knees, the right ankle and left ankle and unfortunately my back as well. Sure as hell doesn't feel like  a sprain when ll of it starts hurting at once.

Someone left 5 bottles of this stuff downstairs  from .. Australia ... with capsaicin and some other stuff in it and that relieved Kathy's back pain but we can't find the product anywhere.
She was born with a curved spine and injured her neck and knee in an auto accident and is in continual pain from it.

Since this has devolved into "my aching old back" cures I'll do one more.

Scantily clad, cinnamon skinned, teeth as white as pearls, island girls, with giggles and hands gentle as a tropical breeze, can work miracles. They may even help ease back pain too.

we use horse salve over here. works for horses and people. overstressed joint, backache etc.
you probably have it anyway. it's with Arnica, Rosemary extract, mint-oil (menthol), camphor.
something like this: http://www.theracavalis.com/our-product/quality.html
obviously not healing, but might give relieve.

Yep, I usually get up at 7am (Eastern) for work... But I'm thinking the first week or so will be full of late nights anyway. This is special.  :D

I just hope my phone's data connection is good enough to stream when I'm camping. Listening to a live Art Bell show around the campfire would be really cool.

PLEASE don't not let this devolve into how to make my back better. Maybe there is no way to stop it like Roswells, I understand the way it happens, if it worked for me it will work for you type thinking.
Even I can't stand reading this stuff, thank you for the good intentions but let's talk about anything else.

Have I mentioned KNYE?

I'll give that a try. The red rubber glove on the head I won't mind so much... the feather duster on the other hand, might be a deal breaker.

Speaking of KNYE... when was the last time you tuned KNYE in, Art?
And how did you do it, radio, or internet stream?
If it was a radio, what kind of radio did you use?

A lot of stations, including AM stations, are simulcasting their signals on FM stations. Hopefully in July some stations will do this with the new Art Bell program?? My older non-smartphone Nokia had a built in FM radio and most modern "smart phones" have the capability to receive FM signals- but the carriers won't activate them. Along Sprint is going to apparently. I encourage people to call their providers and request this. It using less bandwidth (and data costs) and saves battery power versus 4G-Lte streaming and think less than streaming via an app over WiFi. When the new show happens I would love to be able to listen away from the house away from WiFi and via my phone (or CCRadio etc!) on an FM station. I wish they could also get AM but I think the problem there is needing the ferrite antennae to be built in.
