Wow.  I was a different person before the implosion.

So was Art

Which reminds me, now that the Savage situation is no longer causing Art ''severe emotional distress'', and is no longer ''hindering his return to broadcasting and journalism'', I wonder how its coming along.

Our optimism had bloomed for a brief time, like desert flowers, which were then crushed by a steamroller.

I bet Art's getting that old feeling in his tits. A comeback shouldn't be far off. Or he's about to pop out of his tube top.

We're due for a "Hello, everybody" followed by a tease of some sort.  Of course, we'll have to "be good."  ::)

Somehow I ended up popcorn-trail walking through some old posts, and rediscovered this gem - from an earlier, cheerier time on this thread.  I've been hearing it all day in my head.  Actually I hope it stops soon.
Here are old notes from a follow up I was working on:

Art Bell the drama queen
Old and mean
Gonna sink my team
Drama queen
Feel the heat from the BellGab scene, oh yeah
I can tweet
I can sue
Slanderers are all of you
Ooh, see the stalker
Quit this scene
Art is the drama queen

Probably more indicative of my current thinking.

Heh, pretty much "right on."

... It seems to me that the people in this forum should be proud of her [Heather Wade], she was after all one of us...

Art

Wouldn't this same logic apply to Falkie?

Reported.  Used Falkie and logic in the same sentence.  Carry on.

Art's statement didn't make ANY sense to me.  So any incompetent clod is good to go for hosting MITD, if they signed-up at BG?  I guess if I sign-up to https://www.airlinepilotforums.com, I'm good to go to pilot a 747 out of San Francisco International.

Yea, no shit. Art, I joined bellgab a few years ago, I'm not an insider, but I've contributed some posts, can you get me a job in radio too please?

How will you find time for work amidst your mindless, reflexive spamming of the Quote button?

Hi ART!! Miss you on the air. Wish you'd fill in for heather.

I heart has been making poor choices and keeping tired voices in the air. That and overpaying execs with huge sums, wouldn't be surprised to see SEC investigation.

Apparently selling off good assets, investing in corporate 'mist tunnels,' ridiculous pop music festivals, a bad app, going after people who archived or shared their shows, and taking certain shows in "an new direction" with an awful host didn't pay off? Go figure. Been years in the making. Amazing how some companies can keep going despite the hemorrhaging and changing market and technology. Hopefully though this will result in more local stations? (My guess is the Chinese will step in and buy up a lot of stations for their propaganda and to park money.)

ps: hope you and your family doing well. Miss your shows.

Time to get some chocolate*, I predicted this a year and a half ago. Cumulus is next, and you can almost hear the violins. Art, my cat thanks you that you have kept MITD free of Dr. Doom, but she has asked where you have been lately. I highly encourage you to dedicate a few minutes to talking on Yeti II if you ever do a fill-in show.

Phil Hendrie did an interesting and entertaining hour, in his own voice, on "The Death of Talk Radio".

Listen: The New Phil Hendrie Show Episode #886, 4/21/17, on TuneIn

A lot of the Youtubers have also quit. Couple different reasons, YouTube cracked down on "fake news" and a lot of content was considered controversial, even if it wasn't. So those channels no longer get ads.

YouTube also changed how they compensate folks, so many have left.

I love Art Bell :-*
