Your new avatar did the same over here.  *ducks to avoid smooch*   ;)

you know, i will say i've been noticing a wide array of websites running poorly recently from both my home and office internet connections.  it seems like the network is taking a big dump somewhere and has been for at least 2 or 3 days.

i'm on the phone right now with hostgator support.  "we are experiencing higher than normal call volume."  what's that tell you?  bellgab is not alone.

Could an attack really affect the entire internets*?

*This post brought to you by the letter 's.'  'S,' when you need a random comedic effect.

Now suddenly it is better for the moment, that is what a DOS attack looks like. Usually if it is a server problem it stays slow till fixed. However anything is possible on the Internet. Our provider here has had attacks from China just because somebody got into a fight on a board and said something that provoked them.

Art
Like what?  "Fuck the Chinese, let 'em call their debt.  What are they gonna do?  Do my laundry?  Leave the egg rolls out of my order?"  Do you think that would piss them off?  Well hell, let 'em call th

Maybe we should post something positive about Russia and China. Chinese food is great. I need help on Russia--I can't think of anything off hand.

Russia, all your base are belong to us...

I'm part Russian, I think my moodiness comes from those ancestors.

That would never happen on BellGab.  We're all civil here.

It's fast in here again. Sorry I was so quick to give up on you hostgator  :-[ :-\ :'(

I thought Russia and China already essentially had their own internets.*

They're hosting this site on their very first server, the little server that could. Poor little bastard, they're pushing him past the red line just to keep up.

Zenman

I'm not so sure it's just a Bellgab thing. For the past hour or so I've been able to get into this site with no problems, as well as other sites I've been having trouble with. First time in couple days that's been the case.

Wow, my message went poof and I got logged out. What I said was I know a bit about this because Producer Paul owned the biggest ISP in Pahrump and one day some guy got into a spat on some Board with a Chinese guy, he said some unfriendly things about China and days of severe DOS attacks followed that took the whole town down and forced him to ban a whole range of IPs involved. This up and down stuff sure seems like a attack, but who knows.

Sometimes I think, why not just disconnect all of China and Russia from our web somehow, since they are experts in doing anti useful things these days...
yes, they invade way too few countries. Damn commies should take the US as their example.

Can someone post the youtube video where Hitler gives the order to take down Bellgab?

Mail order brides?

Zenman

Looks like it's mostly from China and Russia, but a significant amount also from the Saudis and Germany at the moment as well:

So weird because I saw your first post & didn't know what to think when it disappeared.  Good to know I didn't hallucinate it.  Or maybe not.  Ok, it's still too soon to tell.

Lol. And Anna Kournikova.

Redacted, I saw my own post disappear and reappear, so it might be a mass hallucination.

Wow - that's pretty cool and interesting - is it real and/or accurate? ... Either way I'm just damn glad those aren't real nukes.  :o

Why does everyone hate America so much?  :P

Glad they're not nukes either. I'd hate to miss MITD over a few silly nukes.

This tells me that poor hostgator is experiencing the same spike in call volumes that my bank has for the last decade.  Seriously, I have not called my bank once in the last ten years where I was not put on hold while a recording apologized for the wait... It seems that my call must push them over the edge each time as the wait is "due to higher than usual call volumes..."

Am new here but alwalys wanted to ask if Art could have a dedicated line for real time ufo sightings so that if one was being witnessed perhaps someone in the vicinity would hear and confirm
