...does anyone know if Red Elk is still around because I always enjoyed hearing him on with Art back in the day.

The first show I ever heard was a guy saying that anybody could levitate and that jumping on a trampoline could help.  I am pretty certain that it was Red Elk.  This was followed by either Illuminati or NWO conspiracy.  I was driving an old, diesel Jetta out of the west rim of the Grand Canyon in late October (yes, the grand canyon has a west rim that nobody ever sees accessible by dirt road and helicopter...)


I remember thinking "only in America", and then he appeared on a station overnight here a month later...  In short, I found the guy full of crap, but nostalgia demands that I wish for a return...

I found the first program I heard with Red Elk fascinating.  That is actually one of the few interviews I remember from my early days of listening.  It was before I quite realized the entire industry was a scam machine and thought I was being given a window into some of the first nations' traditional beliefs.  The second program was still interesting but a little less enchanting.

I was not a big fan of Robert Ghostwolf or Red Elk. Honestly, I found the Hopi Elder show almost unlistenable.

I had an issue with the show where they had to have someone translate the Hopi elders. I just couldn't get into the show. Not even Art could save that show.

10.10.2004. At the end of the show he was so annoyed that he called out Lisa Lyons, the lady who books his guests. Zeph starts out pretty coherent but midway through the interview, he admits that he had been admitted to a psych ward... Kinda killed his own credibility.

The thing about Art is the the man could take any guest even those who you believed, or even knew were full of shit... and make them interesting. I was introduced to the show by my friends mom who has now passed away in what must have been 1996, and had never heard anything like before. I'm so looking forward to some old style shows mixed with a lot of new stuff.

He should be looking right now for a back-up host.  He needs the Norry equivalent of a Jimmy Church.  Now, that Church has sinned and gone to the Dark Side he is no longer a candidate.

How about Mallard?  How about Bill Birnes?  How about Whitley?  There just needs to be that cushion, then we can listen easier, and if the back gets back, the stream stays flowing.

I agree that a backup would be nice but I wouldn't listen to them anyway. I've tried listening to other hosts on shows about the topic but nobody holds my interest.
