Since you have to have a little affluence and more of a middle-class style life to afford satellite radio, I'm wondering if that will curb a lot of the interesting calls like Art used to get.

This is a very good point.

I'm going to reup on my cancelled SIRIUS/XM subscription at least for a year. We all said we wanted Art back now it's time to show support. I understand not everyone has the extra $15 a month but if you can swing it I think you should.

The coast is no more.

Good riddance Davie Noorie.

i knew that title sounded familiar.
Art should have used something uniquely his like "Midnight in the Desert"

I had my heart set on that too, because it seemed obvious. I guess there is always time to re-think before Sept 16th  ;)

I will wait to experience the new Bell show. Until then I have no idea what his calls will be like. I can tell you that on the politics side it isn't different than AM/FM talk. not even a little.

Now that Art has finally revealed his plans for his big comeback, now perhaps we can start to discuss how long we guess until he retires again?
6 months? 1 year?

Man, you're one negative dude. We've spent so long hoping and dreaming about Art coming back, and literally as soon as he does you're shitting all over it. Just let us be happy, you don't have to listen if you don't want to.

I may start a site... members only. And it may well offer some sound files that are unique... if you get my meaning.

dude.  just be happy with the news he's back.  you'll find a way to listen for free.  everyone will find a way if they don't want to pay.  we have the internet.  there are a billion ways to get content.  man.  talk about finding a dark lining in a silver cloud.

He's almost 70. Six months to a year of Art freaking Bell at this point would be amazing to me.

For less than the price of a case of beer a month I can listen to Art Bell again, and just in time for Halloween.  Life is good.

Exactly.  I spend more than that for aspirin for the few times I listen to Dave Noorie a month.  Lots and lots of aspirin.

I have no idea what you are offering but I'm in. I like exclusive clubs. Make sure you keep the riff raff out.

Whether you can be arsed to pay $15 a month or not is one thing.  Skip a trip to Subway.  Enough of us were Streamlink members for embarrassing lengths of time.  Air radio would have been ideal, but there was obviously a give and take....

I think a primary question that is being asked is whether or not there will be access if you can't listen live or during replay (for those of us who like to listen at work during the day or are international).

Also, hopefully there will be a stop-gap for those who genuinely cannot afford it.  Do other Sirius shows pop up on YouTube?

Howard Stern and Opie and Anthony get posted to torrent sites all the time.  I doubt Art's show will be any different because there will be a lot of demand.

Make sure you don't pay full price. Reup customers are reporting they're getting service for as low as $5/month when they pay for a year (which includes one radio sub & Internet listening).

It depends on what rep you get. They seem to have several offers which unfortunately vary depending on the rep you get.

Ya know that was exactly my complaint with Dave. not edgy enough...

not edgy must mean: illiterate, disinterested, incurious, aphasic, insensitive, and stupid.

Yep, other than that Dave just sucks.

onan

I think the few that have voiced concern over paying have a valid point. I don't think the "sour grapes" helps their argument. But paying for talk radio hasn't made talk radio better.

Having said that... I will be paying for it... and at least for the time being, happy as hell to do so.

I wish Art well, but I'm not about to pay a dime to listen to the radio.

Pretty disappointing. But then, I really wasnt expecting much :-\

Excellent!!

It seemed that Dave was holding his breath (or the censor button) with each new caller, hoping they wouldn't mention Art's return...or maybe it was just me wanting to hear what he had to say.

Morgus cant help it. He actually listens to Coast every night. That's bound to turn anyone's brain to mush.  8) Just teasing Morgus.

I have no doubt that I will be able to acquire the shows but I am bummed that I will not be able to listen live or interact in real time with the show and it's content. I would also like to attempt to call but I can't do any of that as I cannot listen live from the other side of the world.

I'm listening to Noory tonight for the first time in about 3 years. Is this ass clown ever going to get to any calls? I'm dying for someone to slip in an Art Bell return comment.

MV changed the domain...KICK IT!

Hey Mel, Do you like Captain Spalding (referring to your avatar). They are a local Aussie band and I used to see them at many clubs that I frequented in the 90s. They used to play at a lot of the same venues as mates of mine who were also in bands at the time. Fun times.
