The Federal Reserve being a 'private bank' is a myth.  It is privately financed as when it was set up by Woodrow Wilson he ordered the private banks at the time to "buy" shares in order to finance its initial set up and operation, however the mandate of the Federal Reserve is under the law passed by Congress, the majority of directors on the Federal Reserve (and the regional banks) are appointed by the President (or the Treasury Secretary) and any profit made by the Fed is sent back to the Federal Treasury.  Those are the normal standards that accountants and lawyers look at to see who really has control, and by all measures, it's the government.

I don't know if a single Chair of the Federal Reserve has ever worked for a bank before, at least not in a senior capacity. They are expected to be economists not bankers.

Given that bankers would prefer higher interest rates, as that would improve their 'spread', I don't see how you can argue given this lengthy period of allegedly 'easy money' that the Federal Reserve (or indeed the ECB, the Canadian or Australian Central Bank) is operating for the benefit of private bankers.
"Let me end my talk by abusing slightly my status as an official representative of the Federal Reserve. I would like to say to Milton and Anna: Regarding the Great Depression. You're right, we did it. We're very sorry. But thanks to you, we won't do it again."- Governor Ben S. Bernanke

BoE was privately owned until 1946 (when labor nationalized it.)
Bank of Canada was privately owned until it was turned into a Crown Corporation in 1938.
BIS is privately owned (has bought up most of the initially public shares)
Baron Kurt von Schroeder, Emil Johann Rudolf Puhl, Walther Funk, Hermann Schmitz (of Zyklon-B fame) were all directors of the BIS.

If you look at the directors of the Federal Reserves banks, here in the US, you will see most all of them work, or worked, for banks which are elected to the position by member banks.

Ownership is determined by who has effective control, not by who holds the shares.

The reason the Smoron uses the split guest format and is now cramming it down the throat of the other guest hosts is because he has the mental prowess of an ant and less intelligence than the ant and can't keep an engaging and interesting conversation with anyone for longer than a split. And he struggles with that, even.

Disgusting and sad. Soooo happy, happy, joy, joy that Art is coming. Yep, Art is coming, Smoron.

:o I guess, if the ownership of the shares is diversified enough that there is not single large shareholder or voting bloc than a company/bank can do what its management wishes (at least for a time.)  And, I guess, 'effective control', of a bank ultimately would rest with the sovereign or government though, looking at historical examples I'm not so sure about that, often it seems the latter controls the former. Or, they form a symbiotic relationship*, ideally good for the people, but not always obviously. Iceland is a good counter-example though.
Interestingly all the people I mentioned before at the BIS were convicted at Nuremburg Trials but the institution still exists with great, secretive power.
* Another one to check out from the library for you that is a fascinating work detailing the rise of Germany unification, the banking, the Jewish issues, etc

Split show formats are ridiculous and awful and simply because Norry can't handle a long conversation and all too frequently repeats his same 3x5 boiler-plate questions EVEN in the short split-show format.

Not a member but if I were I would ask "why the split-show format? Especially with guests that are completely different and it doesn't allow delving deeply into the subjects or guests" A polite and reasonable question.

I asked him that.  I got my stream from my wife as a Christmas present.  I hardly use it anymore.

george noory: There is a reason for that....lots of people like variety rather than one guest and IF the topic doesnt interest them..weve lost them for the night. At least with a split show, we get their attention

They had a poll while I was on asking which format was preferred.  I guess Tommy, Lex, Lisa and George ganged up.

2/2 67%
3/1 24%
Open Lines 10%

Another show to which I will not be listening. I understand that there's not always enough new material to do UFOs/Paranormal/Conspiracy/Unexplained, etc. every night, but enough of the health issues already.

Would like to ask a follow-up, why do they usually front-load the first half with the suckiest part?

Well, most of the questions were pretty lame.  Crap like who would you rather interview? Annabelle or Robert the Haunted Doll?

Typical low-life programming gimmick.  They hope you'll wait out the crap to get to the better stuff.

Joke's on PremRat, though, since Dave's magic touch makes it all suck.

Sorry, zeebo.  Its over now.  Maybe , George will show up and answer your question.

Indubitably.

Anybody ever think C2C with Dave must have been what radio was like in the USSR?  Everybody would sit around and have to listen to really crappy radio, while somebody with a bad hairdo and an awful stache told you how wonderful it was and he was never going away.

I'm thinking Geraldo Rivera meets Donald Trump.

George is chicken and said Robert.  Really not much competition.  Robert isn't exactly a scary name and well there's something about an evil Raggedy Anne doll  that's really creepy.  All Robert would have done is sat there whereas Annabelle might grab a knife and slice open Jorch's throat.

Oh, George and his Robert the Doll fixation.  I think he likes the part where the name describes what it is, kind of like Casey the dog.

I really wanted to ask George why he books so many alternative health guests.  Those shows are either boring or annoying which is why I'll be turning off the show tonight after the news segment.

No Name Storm

They book alternative health shit and new age shit because that's what all the hucksters are writing about and pushing their lies in self-published books. This is what the Smoron loves. Just like his books. Lies and huckstering. The whole New Age thing is crap and filled with nothing but fakes and the desperate. Alternative medicine is no different, but maybe even worse.

A bit here and there goes a long way, but to devote most of a week to nothing but the stinkiest crap is just pathetic and vomit-inducing.

Art is coming. July is coming. You hear that, Smoron!

This could actually work to our advantage come July.  (At least on the west coast, not sure how the MITD and C2C overlap back east.)

Then again, if one listens to Art's show, then slums it for the second half of Snoory-town, it's kinda like going out for a high-class steak dinner, then getting the munchies at midnite and settling for microwaved velveeta nachos.

jorch, please liven up your procedural sounding broadcast

wheres the entertainment value?

it's radio not headline news

George needs to stop trying to do weird accents when names sound "foreign" to him -- he sounds like a jackass.

Just a moment ago he said "Johorrrraannnnnnnn Vanderrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrsloot!"
