YUP! What is killing McYDs is the competition from GOOD TASTING FOOD, In-N-Out, Freddies, 5 Guys, etc...they are spreading and people, even kids begin to taste quality! Now, Art will give his brand of Tasty Talk! No more corporate, watered down swill!
Way, way long ago, McD's was a treat.  Now it's swill.  Just like C2C.  Homogenized crap courtesy of corporate suits.

Yes, and no. I still like their breakfast items and there is something nice about being able to, no matter what country you are in, get a burger that tastes the same. Not good, mind you, but consistently similar. And the experiences of the 'local' menu upgrades/variances between McD's is always interesting. And, for better or worse, McDs has been an constant employer, especially of 'first time' teen jobs, inner-city jobs, jobs for uneducated, recently fired, in recovery, etc. The Norry version of C2C is not even consistent in its mediocrity and is at a point where even the black-humor of listening to a dolt doesn't make up for the inanity and poor effort.

ps: Last night Norry said that "I think 9.5% percent of every 10 officers is good" (or something to that effect.) So, less than 1 officer out of ten is a good one? :o The guy can bungle even common saying like "9 out of ten!"

Agreed...of course millions still buy McYDs, but that does not translate into profits...McYD's is really a real estate company, not a restaurant...All properties (real estate) are corporate owned and leased to the franchisee...the food is a second thought...another reason why C2C is the same...they own the stations, the shows are a second thought...

ItsOver

Bottom line is they both suck.  McD's lost it's identity and Premrat tolerates Dave.  "Quality, who cares?"

I can see that. Btw a neighbor of mine just said his buddy that has three McDs franchises is NOT allowed to sell them, at least for a while. He wanted to retire and move away but corporate said nope (for now,) I guess during the restructuring stuff? (Got into the conversation because he had recent sold his franchise (another chain) and retired (sold it back to a guy wanting more franchises in the area) and got some good $ for it and, apparently, no employee turn-over.

The guest was Leslie Klinger, a knowledgeable enthusiast of Lovecraft, Poe, Doyle, Stoker, Dickens, etc.  George's big contribution was how much he loved the movie "Oliver".

He keeps proving this point over and over again:

A person who won't read has no advantage over one who can't read.

It's clear the listenership has gone down steadily and more rapidly...that is also true for most of terrestrial radio...so the ads have also gone down in cost for advertisers...therefore, they stick around giving the illusion not much has changed!...oh, but it has changed!...Dave is like the Big Mac at McDonalds...McYD''s is going down tast...they still have the Big Mac, but change is coming NYE! I think Art is at the head of that wind of change!

Tommy is like Grimace, and the new Hamburglar looks more like a creepy pedophile instead of a burger thief.

Gassy Man

Coast to Coast is now run like a TV series that reaches 100 episodes.  In general, after that, quality goes down because it's just a matter of keeping the show on the air because they've reached the minimum number of episodes for syndication.   After Art's departure and a brief period of transition from him to George, things have been declining.

At this point, it's just about doing the minimum to keep the show on the air.  There is no real competition (yet, heh, heh) at that hour, so the show could just lurch along for decades until something better happens.  In the business, the suits probably see it as an aging show that's outlived its premise already.  They're waiting for whatever they think is the next thing to come along.

That entire business is pretty bottom feeding. For every Art Bell, there are dozens and dozens of nobodies who crawl out of the woodwork and then go back to selling used cars when it doesn't work out. I did some work with an ex-DJ once. He told me even though he was just over 30, he had to get out of the business. Why? Some guy he'd admired, he found out, literally died on the air, in some station in the middle of nowhere.  He'd had a great career, but as he aged, he became less and less relevant to the suits, so he went from one station to another until he finally found himself in a station with no staff and so few listeners no one realized he'd died.

ItsOver

Fire 95% of the corporate suits and bring this back.

All right, you can increase the prices a bit, but hire employees who give a damn and use quality ingredients.

Anybody remember when McDs had a clock?  You'd damn well better get your order in less than a minute.

... Last night's show was an abomination. Trajectory of Science is the title for that show on the Coast website, it should be called George Noory Attempts to Learn All About Science but Fails Miserably...

Tommy wants to know if you expect a good show every night

And not a one of them is worse than George Noory

Jorch and Tommy share some quality beach time.

After a two day absence, it's clear you can go home again: George Noory sucks. -Hater 11 of 25

the fine print is quite revealing! franchisors are better at selling franchises than the actual product!

Cantara

I'm not sure how to explain this because I'm not computer savvy but when I share the bellgab link to my facebook (inviting a friend to join) it shows an image of George Noory's beyond belief.com advertisement. Just an FYI in case that's not suppose to be there :/ If it is then just ignore my paranoia. Seeing as this site has been having technicalities lately I thought I'd share.

Ok gosh dernit, can Ten-Ten Tommy please stop sitting on Bellgab and breaking it? I sure wish Ten-Ton Tommy would stick to sitting on Jorch's face instead.

Some ridiculous split-shows coming up this week (to wit: Finance/Angels, AlternativeHealth >:(/EducationFailure) but, if not for Norry, I'm sort of looking forward to Tom Horn and you know the Steve Quayle on "Jade Helm" will be crazy fun and not a breath will be inhaled by him during the whole rant(s) and sure to bring out some nutso callers.

IT doesn't even say if JOrch is on tonight?

I realize we were offline for a while, but does George Noory still suck?  I'm in my closet roasting rats for tonight's dinner, you know, just in case.

Jorch talked allll about how he does nothing but work work work, where was he last night?

Dateline

New treat tonight!  Popcorned rat.  It is a new snack I can munch on as the show sucks.  I used one of the butter recipes from that recipe book that N.Birnes wrote for Norry.

It sucked so much that I already turned it off.

Guests are talking about a financial meltdown and a new age guru talking about her communications with the other side.

See if they are going to do split shows it should be a point counterpoint type of deal, and not dumb combinations of stuff like this.

well, he is correct as cited in various Biblical texts versions at least (1 Timothy 6:10, KJV). Not listening to this show though. Not the money, itself, but the coveting, interest, greed, etc.

Gassy Man

The versions I've seen, though, state the love of money rather than money itself (which is what the guest said).  It's one of the most misquoted ideas in western culture.

Sorry, you are totally correct! All that I aware of state the love of money (or derivations.) Because in theory the corruption of such love (miserly, lending of such for interest, greed, pride, etc. end up hurting people (and even the lender.) I totally misreplied to your email! Likely because I am listening to an old BBC interview with a (drunk) Raymond Chandler and Ian Fleming discussing their works. Amazing.
