Tonight's show sounds like it might be pretty good, assuming the histories are true, and not just stuff somebody made up.

I go to a Bible Study every other Tuesday with a bunch of Catholics.  What I've been able to gather from my experience is that Catholicism is an ongoing contest to see who can say ritual prayers the fastest.  I sometimes wonder if they're even cognizant of what they're saying.  I'm definitely not as their speed praying is beyond my capacity for deciphering gibberish.

Guys, Noory IS right wing, remember he kept talking about the libertarian candidates, he's supported libertarians for over a decades.  On radio, liberals are the minority, there are very very few liberals in main stream media, the medium is hostile to them, and the listeners who spend time with AM radio are all right wing.  Left wingers don't listen to AM radio, in fact, few even listen to any radio.  But if anyone here thinks Noory is pro Clinton, they are mistaken, and Noory doesn't even understand most issues well enough to even know what he believes.  The very fact that he gives Alex Jones free air play is proof of where he thinks he stands.  Premrat wouldn't tolerate a liberal on their network.

Back in the 90's, Coast had some credibility as a forum for the unusual but now with widespread internet and forums like this one, most guests have become discredited and it's harder to stomach listening when you know the guest is a fraud. This is why the host is so important - Art Bell could make a show work even with the most flaky guest - Noory just says "I agree" and "That's true." When Noory himself lacks credibility and a backbone, the whole thing falls apart.

It may be hard for George to objectively prove he is a Catholic but how about a DD214 to objectively prove that he retired from military service?  Noory  brags about his NINE YEARS in the US Navy so should be proud to show his discharge papers on his web site.  A photo of him in uniform would be interesting too.

Perhaps both were lost as his interview tape with Jimmy Hoffa.  The last interview anyone had with Hoffa,.....Noory says.

The Original Poster specifically started the thread out of frustration with GN teasing the Ouija Board experiment for months, then cowardly ducking out.  Dang, she was mad.  That thread got up to around 3500 posts, and was probably the funniest thing ever on the internet, and those fools deleted it.  A second thread was started, got up to about 2500 posts, and was also deleted.


I think George is about as dumb and lazy as it gets, just this side of being completely dysfunctional.  I think he comes up with these ideas on the ride in to the office, gets all excited, thinks they are great, announces them on the show, and has no real plan after that.  I don't think he plans to hype this show then pull the rug out, it just sort of happens because he's an idiot.

It's a lot the same with some of his other stories and commentary.  The Hawaii Studio was completely made up - he wanted to look like a big shot to his audience that day.  His personal stories typically don't quite ring true, yet manage to make him seem isolated and creepy.  Some of his other stories and brainstorms that just sort of petered away...

George doesn't come up with these ideas. he has no ideas. The signs are showing the producers that George's popularity is in a nose dive, so they are bringing back the Ouija Board controversy because it's the last thing that stirred up any interest in the show. It's pathetic that the producers are so unimaginative that this is the best they can do. They're stuck with Noory, because that's the word from on high. I think I heard him, while reading the news last night, pronounce hummus as humm-ness (as in 'hum a song'). How can someone who grew up in a Lebanese family not know how to read the word hummus? It's obvious that he is illiterite, can't do his job, but someone important wants him there.

Two signs that the producers are worried about George's popularity is that callers are now allowed to call more than once a month. In the past, if a caller (except for Bill the atheist and Cornelius) said "I just talked to you last week", they would be cut off, with the warning to call only once a month. Now when a caller says they just called two weeks ago, nothing is mentioned. That must mean that less calls are coming in. The second thing was George's interview with David Paulides. The producers know that Paulides is a hugely popular guest (he's my favorite, too). Paulides had just been on with Knapp. There was nothing new in his interview with Noory. It was a re-hash of everything from his last interview with Knapp. Shortly thereafter, he was on again with Knapp to announce his new book. I'll bet the producers said something like this to Paulides: "We know an interview with Noory is hell, but if you want to keep coming on the show, you are going to have to do this interview with Noory. We need to bump him up."

I've been playing around on Ancestry.com for a few days and saw this and decided to check the draft/enlistment/service records for Noory. Nothing comes up for George Ralph Noory. The closest is

I think that Izintit?'s post to me sums it up pretty well. Some Catholics are like George and combine New age and goodness knows what with their Catholicism and wish the Pope would stop being such a hardass. Others like my ex-boyfriend, keep looking for churches with Latin Mass and gripe about the damage done by Pope John XXIII. Jews are on a similar spectrum, as I see it, but they have conveniently labelled themselves Reform, Orthodox, etc.
