The Hawaii Studio was completely made up - he wanted to look like a big shot to his audience that day.

Like his "Coast Cares Foundation" or whatever the hell he called it.  Guess he never got that 10,000th subscriber.
How could I forget about these two gems?  I suppose it has just been too long since Magnum G.N has reminded us of his greatness and his generosity.  I suppose the next time he suckers somebody into "coauthoring"  ::) a book for him we might hear how he promises to donate some of the proceeds to his own foundation.  (I know there is no money in it... but did he ever even set up the Georgie cares foundation?)

Why do they let these goofball callers get past the screener?  You've got a leading scientist doing a really interesting experiement, who just spoke with Congress, and instead of letting through an interesting question, you have a guy calling in to say "Hey back a few years ago I really saw a UFO and the aliens are doing experiements, I'm sure of it!!!"  To Seth's credit, he's really a good sport about these things.

Edit:  By the way, Seth was on with Jimmy Church recently, and I recommend that interview.  Jimmy and his emailing audience had some great technical questions and they took time to really discuss some of the science behind SETI.

Oh jeez, not that guy, please, with his 3-part questions and white paper citations and hyperactive ramblings.

Edit:   Aaaaaarrggggh, he just got through!   Well his questions weren't too bad tonite, perhaps he's back on his meds.

and here he is right on queue, its Bill the amateur atheist astronomer with his long complicated multi-part questions...  :o

I really wish Coast would stop focusing on politics/economics.  I don't have anything against the guests but I started listening to Coast way back when because it was a diversion from the usual on talk radio.  I just get infuriated at the politicos in DC and nothing seems to change.  Folks are apathetic and too busy playing with their smartphones and don't seem to be paying attention to the fact that the country is going down the toilet.

I can't think about this stuff 24/7.  I want ghost stories and more shows about the unknown.  So long as it is not another show about consciousness.  Talk about boring.  When was the last time Noory did a show about a paranormal haunting?  Thank God, Schraeder is now a fill-in.

I agree. What attracted me to the show years ago were the topics of high strangeness. I am so sick of miracle cures, economic discussions, and New Age bs. The political talk is a bummer and I hear it all day long. When I listen to C2C, I want to relax and hear great stories about paranormal activity and alien abductions, not yet another person's thoughts on politics or the tax code.

I know where you're coming from 21st.  I too am tired of politics blaring day and night on radio & cable tv.  Heck I don't even go into this site's politics forum since I just want to get away from it.  And I want to hear about other stuff, more esoteric, mysterious topics on coast.

However, I see this guest as an exception.  It's so rare to hear any views different from the two behemoth parties and their respective armies of spinners in the media, that I'm finding this quite refreshing.  Sadly, any views outside either of the two default orthodoxies of our political world, just don't get much light so in a strange way this is kind of a fringe topic that makes sense for coast (although it shouldn't have to be).

Exactly.  I enthusiastically agree with every point you make. I think the scary stories give Georgie nightmares.  I think John Zaffis is the last good guest he had on regarding the paranormal and that was months ago.  Oh, I forgot about Joshua Pee Warren. I don't particularly care for his blathering.  Guiley is ok but very one note.

I can see your point and I think the Judge is fighting the good fight.  Unfortunately, there are not that many common-sense Libertarians in govt.  I hope that changes but I am becoming quite the cynic.  I get very worked up when it comes to politics and I really just want to relax at this time of night. I just wish Coast would go back to the formula that made the show great.

Back in the 90's, Coast had some credibility as a forum for the unusual but now with widespread internet and forums like this one, most guests have become discredited and it's harder to stomach listening when you know the guest is a fraud. This is why the host is so important - Art Bell could make a show work even with the most flaky guest - Noory just says "I agree" and "That's true." When Noory himself lacks credibility and a backbone, the whole thing falls apart.

That's amazing!!! I agree. :P  Which brings us back to the reason this thread exists.   George Noory,  You SUCK!!!

I have to disagree with the Judge on one point.  We don't need another blue-ribbon commission.   They are pointless and a further waste of taxpayers money.  The powers that be just ignore the findings if they don't fall in line with the government's objectives.

George must be reading the board.   The problem with Friday nights is George usually picks a guest at the last minute.  You are not going to get very interesting guests when you do that.  Not too many people are interested in coming on at the last minute. Unless one is like that attention whore, Joshua Pee Warren. And then he relegates it to two hours because of open lines. Its no wonder he has reduced the number of shows devoted to the paranormal.

Judge got that last part right.  George is, indeed, beyond belief!  ::)

Psyop. I don't mean, like, military--just regular old advertising, all gussied up with roleplayer callers.

Although really, when one thinks about it... aren't we all just playing a role?

On the radio you can always book a last minute hoaxer with something to sell.

I'm somewhat surprised "Jorch Noory sucks' hasn't become a standard societal salutation by now.  Instead of "How are yewwwww?" or "Wazzup" or "Take care!" or "See you soon," everybody should just be saying "Jorch Noory sucks!"  Closing a letter?  It shouldn't be "sincerely," it should be "GNS!," followed by your name.

Jorch Noory sucks!

The Ouija Board BS was what led to the creation of the very first "George Noory Sucks" thread - on that other forum in what, 2006 or so (has it really been that long?)

The Original Poster specifically started the thread out of frustration with GN teasing the Ouija Board experiment for months, then cowardly ducking out.  Dang, she was mad.  That thread got up to around 3500 posts, and was probably the funniest thing ever on the internet, and those fools deleted it.  A second thread was started, got up to about 2500 posts, and was also deleted.

I think George is about as dumb and lazy as it gets, just this side of being completely dysfunctional.  I think he comes up with these ideas on the ride in to the office, gets all excited, thinks they are great, announces them on the show, and has no real plan after that.  I don't think he plans to hype this show then pull the rug out, it just sort of happens because he's an idiot.

It's a lot the same with some of his other stories and commentary.  The Hawaii Studio was completely made up - he wanted to look like a big shot to his audience that day.  His personal stories typically don't quite ring true, yet manage to make him seem isolated and creepy.  Some of his other stories and brainstorms that just sort of petered away...

George Noory just sucks

I remember hearing Noory once say that he was Christian. Playing with a Ouija board is straight out witchcraft and shouldn't be used by anyone that calls themselves a Christian.

I was surprised myself George let that slip. Flies in the face of the people who thought George was right-wing.But should we really be surprised that "Mr. How Would They Know" supports "Mrs. What Does It Matter"? GNS

George is officially Catholic, but evidently not a very devout one.

Tonight's show sounds like it might be pretty good, assuming the histories are true, and not just stuff somebody made up.

George says he was ~raised~Catholic but is now `spiritual`-whatever that means.Anyway, how Catholic can he be if he thought St. Paul was a fisherman? He`s probably a New Ager.
