Agreed.  I then looked him up on Google to see if he was still touring, and he is.  Some of the tour dates have been postponed until 2021 because of Covid, but he is 81.

...George Norway...

I smell a new comic book character!  George Norway is from the Bizarro universe, but has a seekrut identity:  Snorro!

Holy Shit, I had to google "Snorro" and looky-looky:

https://www.imdb.com/title/tt8279460/

Snorro, de gemaskerde held (2018)

It is a good thing George Norway does not believe in coincidences!

My mind is officialy blown.

George Norway sounds like a lounge singer's name.

I guess I’d better make the most of Ian tonight, although I’m not very interested in the topic.  At least it’s not the numbers nut.

Yep, Gordon is classic.  Beautiful music.  Unfortunately, I’ve heard his voice isn’t quite the same but, hell, doing the road gig at 81 is still great.

Yes, he had a stroke and, just like with Rush, it made his voice higher pitched. I saw him about 5 or 6 years ago and it was still a great show.

Surely, this song is about the illuminati cremation of care ritual perfomed at Bohemian Grove. ;) 8)

The lyrics:

Pickin' up the pieces of my sweet shattered dream
I wonder how the old folks are tonight
Her name was Ann and I'll be damned if I recall her face
She left me not knowin' what to do

Carefree highway, let me slip away on you
Carefree highway, you seen better days
The mornin' after blues from my head down to my shoes
Carefree highway, let me slip away
Slip away on you
Turnin' back the pages to the times I love best
I wonder if she'll ever do the same
Now the thing that I call livin' is just bein' satisfied
With knowin' I got no one left to blame

Carefree highway, got ta see you my old flame
Carefree highway, you seen better days
The mornin' after blues from my head down to my shoes
Carefree highway, let me slip away
Slip away on you

Who was Ann and what happened to her? Why can’t he even remember her face? He seems kind of regretful, maybe even remorseful but then admits that living to him is “just bein' satisfied.” Seems pretty egocentric but he’s still struggling with the morning after blues about it. Oh, Gordon! What did you do?! ???

He was high AF, didn't get her phone number, and forgot what time he said he would meet her at the donut shop. It happens.

Great song.  I’m sure your Ex, JoJo, must hate it.  But, then, she probably thinks it was sung by Neil Diamond and he can’t remember her face because he was a drunk, misogynistic bastard. ;) ;)

The irritating Walt in Pennsylvania got on the air two nights in a row with Fat Boy. I guess Professor I'm-so-intellectual-and-urbane-that-I-shame-Noory, is just as hard-up for callers as George.

It’s worth listening just to hear Ian’s responses to the lame ass Snorge regulars.   ;D

yep, these clowns were planning on dropping into small town USA in the middle of a pandemic and recklessly risking the health of 800 high risk people and then taking the money and running.

glad I could help put a stop to it.

I see some others have done live events recently at Drive-In Theaters where folks can attend in the safety of their vehicles.
Maybe Noory should consider that instead...

Maybe Jorch and Tommee can “invade” a Walmart parking lot.  ;D

Apparently, Walmart is doing this for free, you just have to register to attend.  I can’t see Snorge doing anything for free.   ;)

I'm surprised they haven't tried a "pay per view" streaming event.

That may be too sophisticated for their typical fans, if Noory’s regular callers are any example. ;)

I remember Noory tried that early on years ago, a Pay-Per-View TV special with guest Major Ed Dames.
But not since then, so it must have not had a good turnout?

Isn't that GiamTV -or whatever 'channel' he is always promoting- some kind of paid viewing? Not live (I think) but still subscription. You know the tv show that is internet-based and people invite others over and even have watching parties because you can, uh, you know throw it up on your flat-screen. It's amasheen.

That early attempt was on regular cable TV, a payperview special.
In the last few years he started that internet streaming subscription program on that GiamTV channel, "Beyond Belief with George Noory"

I notice that on the list at the c2cam website of Noory's upcoming events, the one in Washington for Sep 2020 has disappeared!
The only one listed for the near future is now one in late October in Illinois...

At least two callers expressed their desires to "see Jorch" in Everett though from the sound of Linda in Spokane, who has a Weimaraner, I'm glad it is cancelled. She sounded old and was already just worried about the 6 hour trip from Spokane to Everett. Norry did mention once some concern about Washington "not being opened up, up dere" to an earlier caller who expressed wanting to go to the show.

The life (and legal machinations after her death and her estate) of Doris Duke actually would've been a far more interesting story than the Coral Castle stuff, again.

Yeah, I didn’t notice much new about Coral Castle, itself, but the Doris Duke relationship was new to me.  Of course, Snorge was claiming how he was so into the Coral Castle but has never actually visited it.  Yet, he takes time for ghoulish JonBenet drive-bys and city “invasions,” whether they actually happen or not.  What a phony.  ::)

I knew that Doris Duke stepped in and saved Louis Bromfield's (one of my favorite authors- his non-fiction only) farm at the end of his life when he was ailing and broke. I was surprised to learn lately that they had been involved in an affair at one time. Because of Duke's charity, the farm is now an Ohio State Park, which I had the pleasure of visiting in 1997.

I didn’t know any of that and I grew up in Ohio.  Punnett or Syrett should indeed do a show with someone about Duke.

It's called Malabar Farm State Park in Lucas, very close to Mansfield. It took me four days to drive there from Oregon.
