Most have no doubt heard "Red Elk" on with the Noron, who last time referred to him in a most reverent tone as, "My Elder". What a scream. Well "Red Elk" is just the latest in a line of counterfeit Indians (last one being Robert Gohtwolf AKA Robert Franzone) only Noory thinks he's real (Art didn't and played around with it). Every time "Red Elk" is on he's plastered out of his mind on swill and chain-smoking Lucky Strikes. So I called him "Drunk Elk" and post pictures of the old drunk ex-con and also occasionally channel him...look out folks, it gets good...dammit.

Hi Sophie! Yeah, we all got 86'd. I'm glad it happened fairly quickly on the new thread rather than 1111 pages into it. It would have been hard to let go. As it is, no big thing. Especially when they make it impossible to post anyway.

SHERMAN OAKS ? Taking a brief respite from trying times, hundreds of banned GLP members from across the web gathered on coastgab.com this Friday to celebrate World Refugee Day.

GLP refugee Sybil was among several who had arrived to the thread just days before the event at coastgab.com.

"I hope I find a new place to post that's free of censorship and oppression, a good place that doesn't ban your IP for untold reasons," Sybil said as she posted around the thread. "We want to post freely."

Sybil landed on coastgab.com back in 2008, and is among at least several thousand exiled GLPers that the U.S. State Department has pledged to resettle throughout the web this year. A former GLP poster, Sybil decided to flee GLP when posting there became too dangerous, and the regime of moderators too oppressive.

"GLP refugees coming here are so eager to post, so motivated to expose George Noory," said Michael Vandeven, director of refugee services at coastgab.com. "They come over to the site saying, 'Can you get me a thread?' They don't want welfare. They're accustomed to posting about George Noory and want to do so right away."

The plight of incoming GLPers, in particular, has begun to attract concern from aid groups that contract with the U.S. State Department to help resettle web refugees. The International Rescue Committee, one of those groups, released a report this week criticizing the slow GLP resettlement program for inadequately serving a flood of incoming GLP refugees.

"These are people who placed their lives in danger for posting at GLP.," said Thomas Handeiser, a co-author of the report and the organization's vice president of web migration policy. "We do have an obligation to these people."

The current refugee program works under the premise that GLP refugees will find new threads in a month or so, but that is now more difficult than usual, even for GLPers who commonly arrive to forums with high levels of skill and college degrees, Handeiser said.

A GLP poster who still wished to remain an anonymous coward, arrived to coastgab.com after posting for most of his life at GLP.  In short time GLP had banned his IP address and he was forced to leave his native George Noory Sucks Forum.

"It's totally different from what I expected," The AC said of his first days on the new thread. "At GLP, everybody thinks there are lots of freedoms there. But it's very different place when you actually decide to post."
