Varnish is translucent and usually enhances and protects.  Your treatment of the truth is more like shabby vinyl siding.
That would be the grinning douchebag Jon Stewart, liberal hero, and others of his ilk.
Some of us still do think for ourselves, Geezer.
This isn't completely an Orwellian dimension, yet.

Old news.
This Bush gotcha game isn't going to take the focus off the current chief executive's terrible job performance.

"terrible job performance"?

Amazing how just saying it makes it so. Your statement is made, I assume, after hours and hours of academic research (because you are so well "credentialed", after all) that you require no citation or even a premise as to how his performance is "terrible"?

Obama Approval Trumps Bush

March 31, 2015By Taegan Goddard14 Comments
Bloomberg: “A direct comparison of the Gallup approval ratings between the last two U.S. presidents shows that President Obama has enjoyed significantly higher approval ratings than his predecessor, George W. Bush, at the same juncture in their time in office.”

Conservatives won't need to fear The Daily Show. I'm predicting it's going to self-destruct fast with the S African guy they picked to replace Stewart.

3OctaveFart

More dismayed by how lazy those jokes were comically.
If I (or many people at BellGab) wanted to plumb those depths, being funny would be pretty easy.
I'm not against well-crafted jokes about tough subjects. It can be done. But this ain't it.

Fear? I thought Kilborn and Leibowitz were pretty funny (I guess, more properly, their writers were pretty funny) though it was getting stale. And I can't be bothered to watch too much of any tv show religiously.

What was amazing though is that many apparently took the show to be news! That was a little scary but, I guess, not much worse than getting it through CNN, Fox, MSNBC, PBS, Twitter feeds, etc. We will see if the replacement is good- though I probably will only watch if it happens to be on somewhere. The anti-jew thing has a certain cachet these days but I'm not sure if it is long-lasting or if the media, at least here in the US, will go with it for too long.

Between The Daily Show, SNL, and the Yahoo front page, thats the only source of news left-wingers under 40 have.

And so the government revises down, again, their figures!

And job growth forecast is chopped to zero with record numbers of people not working, especially blacks and women.

Obama beats all previous records!

ps: of course, this is the Republicans fault. If they would allow even more immigrants into the country surely unemployment would decrease. And also it is the "global warming" that caused cold in winter that effected some industries. If Republicans would admit "global warming" we would not have had such a cold winter and more jobs out there.

A full concert of Brice Springstein, and people say there's no hell. What more proof is needed. Bring on the overbite.

Obama had his staff tweet out a photo showing him with a rainbow the other day. Not sure if was just the normal messianic stuff usually promoted about Obama, or some secret inside joke- considering all the persistent rumors-, or a "shout-out" to the homosexual community for all he is doing for them, or what the precise reasoning behind the photo release was? It was bizarre and backfired, a bit, on them.

And yet they didn't cancel the Joint Strike Fighter program. A plane that isn't particularly good at anything and yet somehow is the most expensive weapons system ever.

I understand that any such economic projection beyond five years out is economists' nonsense.  That one goes out like 80 years.  A projection for 2090?  Seriously? And I also understand that conservatives have claimed the debt sky is falling for 81 of the past 86 years (in 2003-08 they shut up while their boy was driving the bus over the cliff).

That doesn't seem to be working

Rethuglic Party supporters are very concerned about the deficit/debt...when a Democrat is President.

Once again with the fanboy nonsense from the left.
Keep your eye on the ball here, champ- this is a systemic failure.
As far as projecting 2090, it's a working model. That is the point of research.
But you don't have to be Milton Friedman Jr. to see that we're fucking fucked.
China's got us by the nuts and they might like to be paid back sometime.

Amen brother geezer. It's like when Clinton projected the 3 trillion dollar budget surplus in June 2000. Then in July 2000 it was 4 trillion. Then in August 2000 it was 5 trillion. The projected budget surpluses topped the 5.5 trillion mark. All after the stock market had been tanking for nearly 6 months. The media ate it up and praised Clinton and his claims that we'd never have another economic slow down. Boy those were the days.

And of course, Bush was elected in November, declared the winner in December, and by the end of December the media was in overdrive with claims the economy was in recession, it was Bush's fault, and we couldn't possibly afford 100 billion dollar tax cut. 100 billion being less than 2% of of Clintons 5.5 trillion dollar lie surplus.

Glad Geezer and I agree that the absurd Clinton projections were highly mythological and mostly based on Clinton lies and media fantasy.

The Chinese have about 8% of the bonds and, at no time have they ever questioned whether they would receive the interest payments, except for when Rethuglics shut down the government.

Not to mention the Clinton projections being simply optimistic forecasts based on the current trend at the time, and our national debt and future promises (pensions, Social Security, ObamaCare, Medicare) are real
