I liked the caller to caller debates, they were awkward, but really raw and real.

They usually ended with both callers shouting to be heard over the other one.

Isn't working for me today with the latest version of Firefox, but works OK for me with IE8 in Windows 7x64
Streaming via Winamp works OK too of course.

Yeah, I get no audio from the widget here in Firefox. It's been that way for a while. But I listen with the .pls file anyway.

i don't think anything could prevent him from saying who sent the notice. 


this was inevitable.  the stream was getting too popular.  some of you will remember the art bell stream i ran for several years beginning in 2006.  toward the end of my stream's life, it was reaching 600-700 simultaneous listeners each night, probably spread across thousands of individuals.  because of these numbers, i began feeling uneasy about the copyright/piracy implications of what i was doing.  there were also other reasons why i no longer wanted to run an art bell stream, but the cloud of legal liability pushed me to close it down.  i never did receive a DMCA notice over the stream, though.  surprising.


someone else will pick up where linden left off, and when that happens, i'll be happy to provide a link to the new stream in our forum's menu.


did u7 get shut down?  i hope so.  the guy who runs that is a dick.  never mind.  i saw coaster's reply above.

linden... you surely have the most comprehensive art bell audio collection in the universe.  as a tribute to the many people who made that possible and as a middle finger to premiere radio, you should share your library, in its entirety, on bittorrent.

good question.  i thought in order to hold a copyright on certain IP, you had to actively enforce the copyright.  someone correct me if i'm wrong on that. 


there are so many people being given a pass out there (people streaming art, uploading audio to youtube, etc), it's hard to understand the persecution of one specific art bell fan.  perhaps it's due to his affiliation with coastgab, a forum where premiere radio isn't particularly celebrated.

What a glorious thing it was to have the AB Stream just there for our taking, at any time. It was the aural equivalent of being in the Garden of Eden where all one had to do to enjoy the most succulent and luscious of fruits of any kind was merely to reach out a hand and pluck from an endless array of the most amazing bounty imaginable.

Thank you so much, Linden, for the splendor of this experience. I think I will always remember it as one of my life's more enjoyable pleasures. And it was done purely out of good will and a wish to share pleasure with others. That has to be worth some good karma. Be well.
