Who IS this dreadful looking person?  Someone else here posted a little image of Honey Boo-Boo's loathsome mother making some ugly, eye-rolling face.  God, these images really bring out the misanthrope in me -- who are these snotty-looking people, why have they achieved celebrity-status, why do so many people care about them?

It's my mom... you dink.

Dude... your mom's hot!

I probably take cultural nonsense much too seriously.

I hate it when people call me at work and waste my time with trivial shit that they could easily look up themselves when they have no intent of ever, ever paying me for my time or services.

You clearly don't work for federal or state government. Any chance to waste time with triviality is welcomed like manna.

It's called capitalism... when people have little discretionary income, they do as much as they can on the cheap. Which includes finding the cheapest price.

How do you think I feel when a neighbor calls at 11pm wondering whether he should give his kid tylenol or ibuprofen for a temp of 99.9? Then I tell them to alternate them every 4-6 hours... then they ask why?... People... I hope they upgrade the model soon.

Even I'm not buying this one:

New woman comes forward to claim sexual harassment.

Stolen quote:

I'm calling BS. Nobody. NOBODY would look at this woman and think to themselves, "Yeah... I'm going to harass that. I'm going to nestle into her belly like a Kowakian monkey-lizard snuggling with Jabba the Hutt." I think at this point, all female government workers in San Diego smell money.

Not so fast: A few years ago over here was a television documentary about (mainly) men, some of whom were really skinny, actively seeking ut and having sexual relationships with astonishingly obese women. One guy (I hope you're not eating---put it down and empty your mouth, okay?) loved to lay next to his erm, woman and lift her folds of fat onto himself; stroking her... So, you and I would maybe prefer to stick angry wasps up our arse than go close to the delights of the above object of lasciviousness, but we're just,,,normal.  ;D

Well, I was   a few months away from 10 years cigarette free.

Sorry to hear.

On the 25th I will be 8 months free of the cancer sticks.

I still crave them every day.

I disagree.  I'm pretty skeptical when I hear claims of harassment, but in this case, after what's been reported, I think it's entirely possible, if not probable. It doesn't have anything to do with looks.  It has to do with this asshole being a control freak who likes to intimidate women. If sexual harassment and crimes like rape were about attractive people, why are there so many cases of women in their 80s and 90s being raped?  It's a crime of violence, power, and opportunity, much like sexual harassment.  And just to clarify, I put the bar very high on sexual harassment.  I don't think hearing a nasty joke is harassment in any way. I worked in a 90% male Army pathology lab/morgue and played with the big boys and gave as good as I got.  What this shyster has done IS harassment.

Considering that a pack has gone from $5.45 when I last smoked regularly...to $10.25, I'm pretty sure this relapse won't be all that long lasting.

Ironically, I smoke when I'm out for a walk.

You are of course correct.  :-[

20 years cancer stick free. Congrats to you guys for keeping at the trying part. It only took me about 10 tries before I got it right, but I finally kicked them because I got pneumonia and got scared. But I don't go all holier than thou on people who still smoke which is something that really annoys me. It's really hard to stop.

It's great you were able to endure and succeed...and even better to not proselytize. Those "ex" who become zealots really don't help any cause.

I smoked from 12 to 18. Stopped for 4 years. Then smoked from 22-24. Stopped for 5 years. Smoked at 29. Stopped for 9 years. Odd patterns. Fits my inconsistent personality, I guess. I'll probably stop next week...only to start up again at 52.

My brother took up smoking at 50. Virtually everyone in the family smoked except for him. And then when people quit, he took it up. Late bloomer.

There's nothing worse than a reformed anything, but ex-smokers are right at the top of the my personal list. And, the more someone harasses someone else for smoking, the more entrenched the smoker becomes. Think if it like a Mike Bloomberg giving the stink eye. That's enough to make me take it up again, just to be defiant.

I am on day ten of not smoking. Not only was I smoking, but I used a lot of chewing tobacco. There wasn't a time during the day that I wasn't absorbing nicotine somehow. I told myself that I was going to quit after my birthday, and I did. The cravings are weak, but the stress and impatience is pretty bad. Tobacco is a disgusting thing, and considering how smart I am, I cannot believe I decided to take up the habit. I guess growing up in a house with two smokers and siblings who smoked helped make the decision for me. Thats all in the past however. I already feel a lot better than I have in years.

I quit in 1980 when cigarettes reached the outrageous price of 65 cents a pack. They're almost $7 here in Michigan now. I can't imagine paying today's prices.

I was aghast when they hit 4 bucks in late 1997. I complained mightily... and gave them my money.

That a 1/5 of JD and a pack of Marlboros costs 37 bucks makes me wish the Injuns won.

This sounds like my pattern.  I quit when I was pregnant and didn't smoke for several years.  But then... well... Oh, school is really stressful right now.  Smoke a little.  Quit.  Out at a party.  Smoke a little.  Quit.  Started a new job.  Smoke a little. Quit.  It sucks.  Packs of Marlboro Reds are around $9-$10 here.  I only smoke in the mid-mornings on workdays now, never near home.  Mostly.  I could quit tomorrow.  Right?

Somehow I still call myself a non-smoker when my doctor asks.  Bleh.

Yeah "non" smoker here, too.  9 years without vs 12 days active still makes me a "non" in my book. If I'm still smoking in 2016, then maybe I'll concede.

I'm a mass consumption/OCD'er, so I smoke my two packs a day in two hours. The last one lights the next one. But I'm a two fisted drinker, too, so it's my nature. Thank you, Mr Jesus for making me this way.

Damn, that's high! Make a trip to South Carolina and load up the trunk. Cheapest smokes in the country. And believe me, I know what it's like to quit. When I gave 'em up, I felt like I had just shot my best friend in the head.

Whenever I drove down to Florida, I'd have to load the trunk up with generic cigs at J&R's in North Carolina or else feel the heat from the family in exile. Yes, I'm an enabler.

I did smoke when my son had colic because it was either go out on the porch and light up or go crazy, and when my mother died. Ironically, I smoked the cigarettes that I brought down for her from NC.

Hahaa!!! (Smug or what?)...I smoked for quite some time, and one day stopped.. That's it..How fuckin boring is that? Now the smell of it on someones breath, clothes furniture etc makes me heave. I know one guy who smokes cos he doesn't want to be seen as a quitter!  :)

I smoked American Spirits for years so my rumors will be politically correct and free range.  Those were the best cigarettes though. Smelled like fine tobacco.
