One of my all time favorite Pete Townshend performances. He did two private shows at Oceanic Studios in 1977 and 1979. A compilation was released in 2001 on Rhino Records and is long out of print.

This is "Bargain". I couldn't find anything from the Oceanic Concerts cd on YouTube so I uploaded a rip from my cd.

LOL. That was a nice find. I've never been the biggest fan of Zappa's music but that may be my fault not his. I certainly can appreciate the artist that he was. All I ever heard when I was young was "Don't Eat the Yellow Snow" and I was familiar with the Sheik Yerbouti album. His song Valley Girl was of my generation and I loved it. I was just reading up on him on Wiki. He was a conservative libertarian before it became popular though he didn't care for the Christian right. I remember him speaking out against Tipper Gore's PMRC and I wholeheartedly agreed with him. The only drug he used was pot and he only did it a few times. Still, the man was a bit weird if not eccentric. Too bad he died at such a young age.

Everything off of this album is classic, but Billy the Mountain is a cult favorite in the cult of my mind.

I think this was his best album. This song is so bizarre but hearing him change riffs so often and using music parodies really tickles me everytime I hear it.

Pete's one of my biggest musical heroes. (Quadrophenia is my single favorite album of all time.) Good sound fidelity on this - you can really pick up his guitar tonality here. Fantastic. Thanks for posting.

Great stuff. I never knew the other musicians on this. Levin's a beast, pretty sure I've seen him w/ both King Crimson and Peter Gabriel. Looks like some of John's original art in the video.

I love this version. I liked the version on Double Fantasy but I think the album should have used the heavier version. The album needed one hard rock track. I gather Yoko nixed this version because it was too hard rock. Not sure why as John always had at least one hard rock track on most of his earlier albums.
