I don't know about all of Canada but the team radio play by play broadcaster Jerry Howarth hasn't been saying "Indians" for years.  It seems nobody noticed until now.

Most of the comments on the story there are pretty lame, in my opinion.  Everybody is offended at things other people find offensive, until they're offended over something themselves.

I can understand, a bit, about "Redskins," maybe but why Indians are outraged, well actually most aren't it is white leftists who pretend to be, teams being named after Indians or associated terms (Chiefs, Fighting Souix, Indians, etc) is offensive? Why not be proud of a hard-fighting heritage or being on a winning team? I could understand outrage over, for example, the old Malt Liquor being named after Crazy Horse, due to the rampant amount of alcoholism in the Indian population but a sports team that is successful?

I'm starting to grow oblivious about these claims being made by various accusers of Trump coming forward now.  Why didn't these ladies take Trump to court back in the day for groping?  The latest accuser brought up the incident to a group of friends over a lunch shortly after the event.  I don't think the incident traumatized her.  She laughed it off from what I read. That sort of behavior happens all the time in nightclubs. Trump is a pig, no doubt, but unless he actually raped someone, so what?  He has done nothing on the level that Bill Clinton did.  No, this is rigged to try and take Trump down.

It's interesting (and telling) how the media perseverated over the Trump tape. And how some in the media *cough* (Anderson Cooper) used what Trump said, then expanded his words into actions. Criminal actions. Let's not pretend sexual assualt accusations aren't taken seriously. A sexual assualt accusation is the most damaging claim that can be made against a man.

If you read the story, Jerry Howarth said he stopped referring to them as the Indians after receiving a letter from an indigenous Canadian.

(The fact that she co-sponsored these bills doesn’t tell us much about her role in their passage, but Bush referred to bills that "she has her name" on, so it’s worth noting those she co-sponsored.)

She co-sponsored one version but another version passed: For example, she co-sponsored S.1, the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act in January 2009 while the version that passed was H.R. 1.

Sponsored amendments: She put forward amendments that influenced laws sponsored by others. She sponsored three amendments on a bill for security and disaster funding. The amendments passed in 2007 and the bill passed in 2008.

Two experts who study Congress -- Norman Ornstein, a scholar at American Enterprise Institute, and Sarah Binder, a political science professor at George Washington University and Brookings Institution scholar -- said that the number of sponsored or co-sponsored bills signed into law isn’t a thorough measure of effectiveness or productivity for a member of the Senate.

"Offering amendments on the floor, holding hearings, contributing to oversight, helping to negotiate agreements, pushing federal agencies to be responsive to constituents back home -- all of these might contribute to making a senator ‘effective,’ but none of these endeavors of course would show up in a count of bills sponsored or passed or enacted," Binder said.

As for Bush’s claim about the number of laws "she has her name on," Binder said that it’s fair game to also look at the number of bills Clinton co-sponsored.

"Because ‘have her name on’ is so vague, I don't see the grounds on which to exclude co-sponsored bills," she said. 

Ornstein said that the names that go on bills of any real significance are the committee chairs -- for example the Dodd-Frank 2010 banking reform bill. Sen. Chris Dodd and U.S. Rep. Barney Frank were the major figures behind the law, but other senators also had roles and don’t have their names on the bill.

Meanwhile, the Affordable Care Act "does not have Al Franken's name on it, but a really important provision, the medical-loss ratio, was his handiwork," Ornstein said. "Effectiveness can be a behind-the-scenes role, adding a serious amendment, working inside to get the language exactly right. By any reasonable standard, including the private comments of her colleagues on both sides of the aisle when she was in the Senate, she was very effective."

My entire retirement was funded by the Clinton economy.  There are things I dislike him for, Nafta, Cafta, Waco;  but halving welfare and balancing the budget were positive things.  I don't give a rat's petutie about Monica.  If he made public statements degrading women I'd have been up in arms.  I don't know how honest his accusers are, and I don't know how honest Trump's accusers are.  I do know that Trump made public statements that treat women like meat and he's called his daughter a hot piece of a __.  Trump is a little lower than pond scum in my book. 

I would love to revisit the dot com stock market once again, but that's not attributable to Bill. 

I suspect that presidents and ex-presidents on both sides of the aisle have profited from the illegal drug trade.
