The word on the street is that demands for Comey's ouster came from inside the Bureau.
That is what the "breaking news" NBC said. But he was getting it from everywhere, both Parties, disgruntled employees, the Clintons, etc. Wise move to get rid of him. I wonder who will be appointed. I'm trying to recall what the situation was when Clinton fired Sessions. Ethics violation or a relatively minor nature or something??

Rudy doesn't have 10 years left in him. That Southern District AG that was asked to resign would actually be a good choice. No way couod a Democrat vote against his confirmation.

What about Napolitano?

Listen buckwheat, if you are going to insist on peeking behind the curtain, certain measures will be taken.

The most ironic name would be Giuliani. Considering  there's  was a lot of talk of him leaking FBI information out, which I think was even confirmed a week ago.

There seems to be no way  this guy would be willing to go through  the confirmation  process. Rudy seems like somebody with way too many skeletons. Unless he just lies his way through it.

I think Giuliani is might have health issues. He was a huge trump guy but stepped away from the Administration rather than take a job within it. I get the impression he's a big talker but doesn't actually want to do anything.

It was probably minor in the shadow of a Clinton administration, but I think there were real issues.

I like chocolate and vanilla, but not too keen on strawberry.

Wasn't  it something like using FBI plane to visit a family member and also putting a security  system at government  expense. Seems a bit of small fries. I will guess the Ruby Ridge incident didn't  do him any favors.

Dr. MD MD

Standard Dem reaction so far: Trump fired muh FBI director! What about muh Russia?!  :'(

Thanks, but it internally was getting to the Comey-like point (internal employees disgruntled and job rivals wanted him out but Sessions refusing to "step down".)

Yeah, how far we have come  :( I would think the govt should provide a security system for the FBI Director though! I wonder who Trump will appoint?

Didn't Ollie North get in trouble for accepting a security system after his life was threatened?

KEK! This is beautiful! What a super-troll they've crafted! Claiming the reason for firing him is how he treated Hillary unfairly is the icing on the cake!  Dems are all twisted up by it and really don't know what to say. ;D

It was the AG who recommended that Trump fire Comey, you moron.

Would that be Jeff Sessions who recused himself because there was a conflict of interest in the Russian investigation who recommended that the director of the FBI who are doing the investigation be fired? That AG?  ::)

No-one believes that's the reason. Mainly because the WH made the statement. Comey screwed up and both sides say that, but thatalone isn't the reason Comeywas fired now. The time to get a new director would have been in January. The give away was the Trump letter to Comey, actually mentioning the Russian investigation. Trump is panicking, and he'll trip up..

I thought so. Just checking. No incentive to get Comey off the case at all. None at all.  :)

I don't think so. You would've just said the sky was falling then, like you always do...that and Muh Russia!  ;D

The Republucans have the house, the senate and the WH, but all the above are responsible for the non functioning of oassing legislation that was promised in the first week?

Got it.

You left out judge shopping for fake judges that will over turn Executive Orders.  You also left out wave after wave of endless accusations - from the Democrats and from the Fake News Media  - falsely twisting any event that comes along as ''related to the Russian interference in our elections'' and needing to be added to the House, Senate, and FBI ''investigations''.  To not do so would of course create an even greater firestorm and insistence of a cover up.

As I said, it's unprecedented.  Thee people ARE the swamp, and they won't be drained easily.

What case?  There is no case.  Please let us know when there is a shred of evidence of Trump colluding with the Russians in interfering with our elections.

It's getting to be time for all the slime balls attacking the outcome of our elections to put up or shut up.

It's convenient for you to pick that as a reason and try to make political hay out of it but the real reason for his firing was for making a no prosecution recommendation about Hill, which is the AG's job and out of his jurisdiction. He's an investigator not a judge.  ::)
