Everyone has moments when he is legitimately subject to criticism.  Dumb is dumb.  It's not white dumb, it's not black dumb, it's just dumb.  It must be very comforting for members of a minority to be able to label anyone in the majority who disagrees with him, or, heaven forbid,  criticizes him as a racist.  In doing so you don't have to examine yourself or admit you are capable of error.  Being in the military will convince you very quickly that you are being criticized because you fucked up and not because you are a member of a minority group. My whole purpose in noting the differences between peoples of the world was to point out that taking in a huge number of refugees who's average IQ is 20 to 30 points lower than that of the average American, who come from a culture vastly different from ours and who tend not to integrate into the the population of their new country is a very bad idea.  it is a bad idea not only from the standpoint of the receiving country but from the standpoint of the refugee.  Of course it is impossible for you to see this as being anything other than racist because you would have to acknowledge the reality that there are differences between people.  Do you think that there is a reason why 80% of NBA players are African Americans while that minority represents only 19% of the total U.S. population?  Could it be because they have physical or mental attributes that Caucasians generally don't have?  Acknowledging reality is not racism no matter how much you want to believe it is.

Here's the thing about McCain.  His guiding principle over his entire career has been for the Senate to make decisions collectively, congenially, and in a bi-partisan fashion.  That what he cares about.  Not his constituents.  Not the issues.  Not the Party.  Not the country.  A congenial Senate.  That's why he's done the things he's done.

The Ds never return the favor, but they are happy to play him.  The pretend journalists certainly love him while he's sabotaging the Rs and the issues and legislation he's campaigned on, yet again.  He believes if he turns the other cheek often enough, maybe next time his colleagues across the aisle will come around and maybe help the Rs pass legislation.  Maybe if he can compromise enough, someday he'll win them over and together they can isolate the conservatives and the hard left and work together.

The Bush family - and others - think this way as well, but McCain is the worst.  And for some reason, he is an influential voice among certain Rinos.
