What are you not getting?  Trump is rescinding that order because of the green card and visa issue.  The 9th could have merely struck down that part of the order so green card and visa holders would not be affected. 

No they couldn't. They weren't allowed to alter it, only judge on what was presented. The WH presented the EO in its entirety wth later amendments they believed (wrongly) were valid.

They didn't do that because they have an ideological problem with Trump.

Let's say that's true, that that was the only problem (which I'm not yet conceeding, but let's just say). Isn't/wasn't that enough? And what about all the human consequences, upheavels, nation-wide unrest (which could easily have gotten much worse)? And who was it who insisted that these things were wrong and ensured that they must be correct? The "Lefties" of course. Trump showed no concern here for either Law OR Order. Ironic, that, huh.

That is not what I heard from law experts on TV last night but I'll give you the benefit of the doubt because I'm a nice guy. 

Doesn't really matter anyway, the EO will be rewritten.  Do I think Trump and friends did a poor job on the original EO?  Yes, I do but you have to remember he didn't have an attorney general to advise him on the EO.  You can blame that on the Democrats for stalling the nomination.  Trump has a learning curve  and I'm sure he'll do better as he gets more comfortable in the office.  Maybe I'll be wrong about that but I like to be optimistic.
