   Here's a tale about meth.

Many a moon ago(1990), my cousin was engaged to guy(they were both about 21) whose father ran a pretty profitable business. This guy was a bit of a cokehead, but in 1990 South Boston that was not unusual at all. So, when the old man kicked, this guy along with his 4 brothers/sisters had about 8-10 million coming their way. Each were to get 2 million. My cousin and the guy eventually split up and I didn't see the guy for decades.

Then, during one of my 3AM crazy person walks in 2012, I pass by a construction site and hear someone yelling my name. It was that guy, who I hadn't seen since 1992. I was amazed he recognized me considering the time passed. So, what was he up to? Ah, just stealing copper wire. He gave me the sob story, he got the 2 million in 1998 and lost it in the stock market. Which I believe was a euphemism for "drugs and booze, with a few whores". As he spoke, it was clear he was edentulous. I said "see ya" and expected to read his obit soon.

Well, tonight during my walk during normal person's hours I pass a dumpster in front of a renovation job at a condo...and he's diving in it looking for...who knows.

See what meth does? It doesn't kill you. At least not quick enough. That dude is 47 and still kicking. So don't do meth. Or do it. It's up to you. Happy America Day.

Good bedtime story, EC! Amazing that it hadn't destroyed his brain to the point where he couldn't even remember his own name, let alone recognize you! As far as the money I'm not surprised, even those who aren't into drugs squander it away more often than not...

Last time he would have seen me I was 16, the next time I was 37. Which shows how much I've progressed over the years. Considering the physical wreckage(his more than mine) I was indeed kinda blown away he remembered me. He told me he was in AA/NA, but probably court ordered.

I think seeing me at 3AM probably triggered his memory as well. "That fuckin kid used to be walking around at all hours back then...It has to be him"

And in a populated place too...the odds are pretty long for sure...ever get the sense it might be his disembodied spirit?...

Meth heads instinctively flocked to Colorado like the salmon of Capistrano. Now they're homeless and there's nary an ounce of scrap iron left in the entire state.

Sorry, pate- hope the clip doesn't ruin your day. My brother is a Viet Nam vet and he's been having a hard time lately, so I understand that there are things that trigger him. I didn't realize how this video would affect you and I do apologize. :(

Sorry, pate- ...

I was kidding, shouldn't kid about that I guess...

Nab-daggit, now I feel bad...

There's a crap-ton of those "Bagrahm (sp) Batman" vids...  Funny in a truly awful sort of way...

I think the "Bagrahm (sp) Batman" has FB and Twitter pages, guy takes himself pretty seriously.  Not that anyone else did...

God bless the USA and the AFN...(Armed Forces Network)

I was really just 'rapping' off of your video, which was actually funny...

Thank you for clearing that up, pate! I guess your kidding reminded me of my brother's mindset lately and I got worried. Don't feel bad- it's hard to tell the tone of a response in text form. That's what those darned smilies are for, I guess.  :-\ Glad you're good and you kid around all you want! Thank you for your service and I hope you have a good weekend.

Happy 4th all the same.

The bugs have been seriously carnivorous this summer.  I think I have more bug bites than pores in my skin.

We have Chinese tiger mosquitoes that are little effin' biting machines, totally beserkers. They're mosquitoes on angel dust. Came over in tires shipped from China and they're here to stay. My outside evening time is limited as they seem to like me a lot.

Roy Scheider's character in Jaws does basically nothing but look worried.

I've worn a kit. In Scotland. One evening only. There's a very good reason it's worn au natural. A mile of pleated wool. It was like having the lower half of my body in an oven.

Would that be a convection oven, and again I say, pics or it didn't happen.  ;)
