Yes, there are people I like and respect voting Trump. I can like them and still disagree with their judgment on electing Trump. I also am sympathetic with a lot of what they feel about the problems in the country. Regardless of that, I think it's a big mistake to make him POTUS. And I've talked about all of this plenty on this forum.

That's not to say that there aren't any stupid, bad Trump voters that I also disrespect. There are and there are also stupid, bad Clinton and Sanders voters I don't respect. I try not to paint with a big, broad brush unless I've got a damn good reason, in spite of the pressure to do that on BellGab.

I see your point and you may be right about him digging in his heels. Still, I think that there's more going on here. First, kok, who was already banned and gone for the same behavior as now, reappears. MV explains it as a technical glitch but then doesn't re-ban him for two or three weeks.

Next, the number and foulness of the posts by him and others shoots way up. I object and suddenly we're in a whole new phase -- one in which the thing I was objecting to gets effectively endorsed by MV. He did that when he granted the parentheses name change to kok. Now we have management not only turning a blind eye but encouraging the presence of this crap on the site while telling members who object FU, drop dead and leave.

Would we be in a better place now if I and other people had just said nothing? Possibly, but I wouldn't give you good odds on that. There is kind of a WTF point and that's when it becomes clear that there's not much hope in keeping your head down and crossing your fingers. That also, it seems to me, is not in the spirit of this place.

I understand the fact that the powers that be includes one fallible person with God power over this site, but no amount of groveling and "Praise MVing" is, IMO, going to fix this. I actually could explain to MV how to keep his diaper money and his principles intact and still solve the problem but I doubt he'd want to hear it from me or anyone. You know, he's got "a very good brain" and all.
