When it's a constant, is it really all that strange to hear it?

Well, I am sure I will now drop in the view of some here, but I don't think climate change talk is fear-mongering.  To me the science is conclusive.  I would LOVE to be proven wrong.  I fear I won't be...

There are two parts to this.

Part 1 - Is the Earth getting warmer?

Part 2 - Is it man-made?

Yes, we are still coming out of the previous Ice Age.  It fluctuates a little - we had a mini-Ice Age several hundred years ago, and a much warmer period than what we are experiencing now a few hundred years before that (remember the Vikings and 'Greenland').  At some point the earth will reach a certain point when it begins to head back into the next Ice Age.

The other planets are warming at about the same rate the earth is.  Climate is always 'changing' and it is caused by the Sun.  Our orbit plays a role, as does the ocean.

These lying 'political' scientists have been caught red-handed lying about the data, ignoring and downplaying the parts that don't support their scheme, and amplifying what does.  They've destroyed original data rather than have it be peer reviewed.  Every single one of their 'errors' horrible-izes the given situation - science has become as politicized as journalism has.  It's too bad, but they can no longer be trusted.

When you say the science is conclusive, what you are really saying is other scientists down the chain, who are not necessarily even in the same field - and who really have no more idea than anyone else does - trust these cheats and liars, then turn around and repeat what they've been told.  Not exactly 'conclusive'.

What is going on with Climate agitation is the same thing that is going on with Obama.  The goal is to destroy as much of civilization as they can, as fast as they can.  The old Reds are the new Greens.  They hate our freedom and democracy, our system of free exchange.  Our history and our culture.  This climate garbage is just something for them to justify de-industrialization.

Go read some Marx and Engels.  Read the part about creating misery through destruction so the people will reach a point where they finally rise up.  Obama, the Media elite, the elite in Academia, the top 'masterminds' in the 'Progressive' movement are way ahead of you on this.  This is precisely what they are doing, and this is where they learned it.

6 years of Obama, and he only seems to be warming up.  He gets more and more brazen and his destructive behavior gets faster and faster as he encounters little resistance.

Look at just the past week:  releases thousands of violent criminal illegal aliens into society, releases 5 dangerous top Taliban animals - two of which are wanted by the UN for war crimes, decrees new rules regarding energy generation - which a Democrat Congress voted down twice before,.

His new illegal energy rules are going to cause energy prices to skyrocket and create shortages.  And destroy 100's of thousands of jobs - closed coal mines, closed power plants, all the supporting jobs.

This, after setting in motion the destruction of our health care system.  And borrowing us into oblivion.  And further corrupting the checks and balances that are the cornerstone of our system. And on and on and on.

Quick Karl

Nitwit reminds me of an experience from high school.

There was some jerkoff in our class, entirely forgetful because I cannot recall his name, but he was very much like nitwit, a scared little boy that tried to make up for his own shortcomings by picking, incessantly, on a fellow named Toomey (my spelling may be wrong).

Toomey was what lots of punks might call a nerd - the kid you pick on in high school but wind up working for as an adult... But he was a really great kid, and he never let the jerk-off get under his skin.

Then one day, out of the clear blue sky, in a gym class, the jerk-off said something to Toomey, and Toomey was still wearing his school clothes (nice pants, real shoes, a button down shirt, and his glasses), but he walked over to a table, took his glasses off and laid them down, and walked over to the jerk-off, and pummeled the living shit out of the fucking pussy in front of the entire gym class. The room was dead silent except for punches landing on the jerk-off's face and body. I can still hear the punches landing - it was like classical music to my ears, just beautiful! I'm thinking Wagner's Ride of the Valkyries

When Toomey was finished, the fucking entire room erupted in applause, better than at any basketball game we ever played against any school, and Toomey calmly walked over to the table, retrieved his glasses, and walked straight to the principal's office to report himself.

That was a day that I will never forget, and I am grateful that I was there to see it.

The jerk-off never had the guts to bother Toomey, or anyone else, after that.

Look around the world - where the Left is in charge they aren't 'pro-gay'.  They aren't 'pro-women', they don't treat minorities well, they aren't interested in the environment.  They sure don't seem to be against corruption or for 'fairness' - just the opposite.

For the Left here in the West, these are just wedge issues to divide people.  And to pick up votes from those they've fooled.  That's all these issues are for them.

Look at the impoverished areas of the big cities in this country where they have governed unopposed for decades - they get worse by the day, not better.  And these Leftists make no move to improve any of it.  Not ever.  (See post above regarding Marx and Engels about creating a bad enough situation that will finally push the people to rise up).

It's all a lie.  Just listen to them, listen to the way they talk.  They call the rest of us names, smear us, lie about us.

It's all a big lie.  Look, really look, around.  And think.

Obama will go down in history as the single most detrimental President this country has ever had, and his legacy will be that of the President that tried to destroy America from within.

I'm not taking any blame off of the shoulders of ALL the preceding presidents, at least since Truman, whom I regard as the last True Patriotic American President, but no one can match the undermining of America that Obama has achieved.

Sadly, many so-called Americans, some even in this forum, actually support Obama's goal to destroy our country.

I don't wish to debate global warming/climate change.  Nothing I say would convince any naysayer here to reconsider.  You think the scientists are league to deceive (in the pursuit of cash).  I have actually never even seen Al Gore's movie, so I am not basing my thoughts on his views.  I am a hardcore listener of Science Friday though.  I trust what I hear there.  Again, I would love to be proven wrong.

I agree. The "warming", sorry "change", is now sort of like religion on both sides. But I don't think all scientists are in league to deceive (in the pursuit of cash.) Most, if not all, government and private grants are not in cash and not all scientists think humans are the cause of the "warming" or that it exists.

I guess my only problem with the theory of "warming", or "change", besides the money and odd banker involvement, is why "warming", or "change", also happens on other planets if it is human caused (I don't believe old Hoagland that we have bases there to explain this?) And why, in our own planet's past, we've had periods of extreme heat and even ice-ages....way before my pickup truck even came off a Detroit assembly line and I fired it up. Believe-it-or-not, the earth at one point was filled with volcanic activity and the oceans were acidic---before there were even humans!!

I have no "cohorts." I don't even know these people you assume I'm in some kind of collusion with! I guess it is that bizarre and nebulous "vast right wing conspiracy" that Billary, sorry Hillary, mentioned decades ago. Same gal who got a stomach ache and then "bump in the head" and can't recall about Benghazi or who claimed she was "under fire" at the Kosovo airport (when in reality she was met by schoolchildren with flowers,as I recall. (Though admittedly I've had a bump on the head and stomach aches since then- so those times when Clinton even bombed the Chinese Embassy, by accident, to help the Islamic insurgents are getting hazy.) I won't even dignify your claims about how I have, apparently, treated this character Obama (or whatever name he is using this decade) because it would take too long. Suffice it to say he deserves no positive comments- much less deification as you adherents would have it. He is not "the One" no matter the posters or even if, as he proclaimed from on high that "a light will shine down upon you" if you vote for me.

As to fear:
The "global warming" end-of-days motif?!?  Doesn't get much better fear-mongering than that! Seriously. Even the best Christian preacher or radical Islamist or whomever you want to mention can't out-do with the rhetoric and proclamations of Gore Jr and others of his ilk (who made his family money from tobacco, politics, Occidental Petroleum- mainly via his dad and then Jr himself taking up the mantel after a private education at the Society of Friends run Sidwell school in DC. Funny how these public school supporters, like "the One", send their children there. And a Christian school at that! A Quaker school. Yet wanting to drone everything!) Yet the Jr Bushes are bad. Ha. Well, yes, the Bushes are bad. But at least they are honest about it.  End of the world. Hurricanes! Heat! Drought! And now the "warming" becomes Snow! Blizzards! Rain! Floods! Let us set up a carbon trading scheme orchestrated by futures trading in carbon and international banking tax levies! Let it become a commodity administrated by certain exchanges, in which I have interest, can make big money. Let us fly me around the world, using untold carbon, proclaiming the "warming" even during brutal winters! Anyone remember when, who was it....ENRON, also wanted into the weather trading? And they weren't even into, yet, the whole carbon trading futures market. (Though I seem to recall Hillary did suspiciously well in the Chicago future exchange on cattle? But, again, I've been bumped in the head since then.) But now it is all good because the Gore Jr and "The One" are into it? We need to raise prices, raise taxes, shut down power plants and start new financial bubbles via banker-run carbon schemes to "stop the warming?" Please.
Thanks for proving my point for me.
1) By "cohort", clearly you understand your political (and moral) affiliation with Quick Karl, Paper*Boy, Stellar, SciFi Author, and other conservative posters on these threads.  It's your continued disingenuous behavior to pretend otherwise.
2) No sooner do you deny any affiliation you then proceed to launch into a bash of Hillary Clinton.  I do not care for the Clintons, but this is exactly the modus operandi of which I posted.  Thanks for exemplifying the expected behavior.  It must be uncontrollable impulse.
3) Your tiresome, hyperbolic response to climate change.
It is exactly this overblown, overdramatic, unctuous response which contributes to the idiocy of climate change deniers. The "End-Of-the -World"  "fear mongering" of which you accuse supporters is a warning against complete and total inaction and denial.
There is no reason whatsoever, from a purely goal-oriented perspective, not to pursue better ways to produce energy than fossil fuel emission.
You claim a loss of jobs?  Tell that to the solar industry in our country, which has grown by 50% in the last ten years.  Tell that to Tesla and Ford, who are building factories and battery plants and pioneering the next BIG THING.
If we can find innovative ways to fuel our economy while eliminating the consumption of fossil fuels, then why not?  The by-products of cleaner air and cleaner water are only beneficial, so what's the harm?
New jobs, cleaner air, cleaner water, the elimination of dependence on oil as a commodity (which involves us in parts of the world from which we'd be better off ignoring)...
...what's the downside of following through with recommendations to limit climate change?

Quick Karl

Albrecht - you seem to have won the spot as nitwit's new obsession!

Here, I'll see if I can take some of the heat off your shoulders. THE SKY IS FALLING! THE SKY IS FALLING!!!!!

If Al Gore is behind it - it's a scam to get rich off of. No different from nitwit's and his bummy buddy's claims about the Koch brother's motivations for their altruistic endeavors...

If we lived in the TRUE libertarian free market that The Founders contemplated - consumers with genuine common sense and respect for their fellow Citizen would be able to decide with THEIR dollars what to support - but people were educated WAY better back in them days, than are the IDIOTS and NITWITS that America's system of dis-education produces today.

So, the real problem isn't whether or not the climate is changing (it always does), or what we might be able to do about it. The real problem is NITWITS.

If the Yellowstone Super Volcano erupted tomorrow morning, nitwit and idiots like him, would blame it on Republicans and Catholics.

I'm all for more jobs, even in the "green" industries. But against the regulatory capture to "create" them. Or against government subsidies (for big oil or for "green" but, at least, the oil the industries work and make money.) But if you are correct, the people via their purchasing power and individual investment will make the "green" companies profitable. And where feasible or large then let voters vote on the project (like I'm a big supporter of hydro, even micro for your own property) and not mandated by fiat from some unelected Czar or government agency.

Also, I'm for the actual environment. The problem with the leftists and their bankers are that they focus on C02 and Carbon which, amazing, is actually necessary for life! I know that is strange to hear- but it is true. And the on the "warming", sorry the "change." That takes focus off of real environmental problems that we can 1) actually do something about and 2) will actually have good effects on our life and economy. Things like heavy metals, over-fishing, drought, recycling efficiently, proper forestry management, etc. But these things don't require huge taxes, global over-sight by some international body, or a banker led bubble commodity-trading scheme that is exploitable. But can be handled by individuals, communities, and States.

i agree pollution should be cleaned up. however automobiles are a minor source of pollution right now. in fact most modern cars and light trucks (excluding diesels) is so clean, you could almost breathe it (it contains no oxygen and most of exhaust >90% is water vapor and co2).
runoff from over fertilization, pest/herbacide use, over farming the land, emission from assorted industrial plants ( either smoke from a stack , or toxic byproducts) , use of plastics (namely plastic bags/bottles that pollute many bodies of water either directly by disintegration or by the release of chemicals due to the action of sunlight on the plastic) ,burning forests to clear the land (or even wildfires) and so on. i would suggest we clean all that up 1st, and slowly bring the dependence on oil down. as a side note: co2 is a weak greenhouse gas. water vapor is the #1 greenhouse "gas" by a large margin, followed by sulfur dioxide then methane.

So we are waaaay off the original topic (which is weird because that Never happens here!), but it is dismaying how some seemingly-green solutions aren't.  To wit, consider the Prius:  components are mined in Africa, shipped to Asia for processing, over to Europe for refinement, back to Asia for construction, across the oceans for sale... I heard on NPR that a Prius ultimately has a fairly big carbon impact.  The problem is not the car itself--it is its illogical production method.

Those Fiji water bottles?  They don't swim here from Fiji.

Great call out on runoff, plastics, and sulfur dioxide/methane.  Plastic bottles, especially, even after re-engineering still an issue.
