What games are these people on here playing. I play WOW.

I gave up on MMO's and reverted back to my original love: Survival Horror. I've been replaying all the old Resident Evil, Silent Hill, and Fatal Frame games. I was on WOW for about 6 months though. I had a lvl26 Undead Warlock. I just hit that point where lvling up got to be more of a chore than an accomplishment for me.

I don't know if this counts, but I'm a crazy scrabble addict. Anyone who wants to fall to my level of nerdiness is welcome.

You may be a little nerdy for a girl Fry, but I'm watching all seasons of DS9 from start to finish online - making me the victor.

...Well, actually making me the loser... but you see my point I'm sure.  ;:)

i just CAN NOT get into that series.  no matter how hard i try.  for me, STTNG is the defining series of the whole franchise.  but that's just me.

anyway, back to games.

This is how I measure my weirdness. I watch the X-Files series box set in regular rotation. I have watched it 4 times. There are 9 seasons and about 6-7 discs per season. To be fair, I'm not fully paying attention when I watch.

Deep Space Nine?? hahaha! What was that chick captain's name? I liked her bun.

Seconded.

She killed ST for me.  The purists will want me to burn, and let me say that I do enjoy the original series, but I believe the very best of ST which took place on a ship (vs station a la DSN) landed right between Douche-ah Yar and this crone, Kat Doucheaway.

Well, the X-Files is definitely on par with the nerd level of Trek in my book.  ;D

BTW, DS9's "captain" was Benjamin Sisko. Janeway was Voyager. And I don't care if you all hate the series past TNG, it's still 10x better than anything on TV today.  :P

Also, Phan, if you give DS9 a chance, it's mostly about war with Cardassia, the Klingons, and the Dominion (The "Federation" of the Gamma quadrant). When Sisko becomes a captain (around the end of season 3) he is awarded the Federation prototype war ship: "Defiant". Then for the next 4-5 seasons it's just plain epic. But as Levar Burton would say: "Don't take my word for it!"  :)

I used to play EmberMUD, TradeWars 2002, Tele-Arena, Legend of the Red Dragon, among some other ancient games, back when they weren't ancient.

You know, for some reason, it's the only one I never got into whatsoever.  Not because of any personal feelings, but just lack of real opportunity.  I absolutely can't stand ST:V, but I have have watched a few of the Scott Bakula ones, and they are all right.

I got hooked last year on wow. I myself have a Warlock. She is a Level 80 now I am working on getting her Epic gear. She is a Gnome Warlock. Her spec Is demon and destro... I also have a level 80 Gnome Death Knight. Also have like 5 or six level 70's from the burning crusade. I am not a conslole gamer

Nboy

I have played WoW, Lotro, AoC, Guild Wars and about 10 or so F2P Korean types.  Only MMO I still play is FFXI, been there 3 years now. I am sort of in limbo at the moment. Waiting for MMOs to come out rather than playing them. Looking forward to The Secret World and FFIV. Will probaly try out SWTOR, Star Trek Online, but I already know I wont be there more than  6 months or so.

I had a sweet rdm/blm on FFXI years ago. One of the best MMO's there is, IMO.

I wasn't a console gamer, until I discovered what the original xbox could do. Either do a solder and a flash (Tsop), or careful copying (softmod), then you can have at least a 1TB sata to ide converted hard drive. 250GB and 320GB IDEs are very reasonable on ebay. Then get xbox media center XBMC on there, and you have a internet capable home media center for less than $100 for xbox and hdd with careful shopping. Plus it can play 720P video, and has tons of codecs, for audio, video, and pictures. Once modded it'll play your burned backups nicely too, especially if you get the +R and use bit setting. You can get a refurbished xbox online at gamestop too, video and power cable, and a controller, about $60 shipped. You do not have to get a new hard drive to mod it. Splinter Cell, a special gamesave, transfer from a memory card to the xbox hdd, and an AID disc, and you can have an impressive device.

A 250GB drive will hold around a one hundred 700mb movie rips, and 100 xbox game backups. Provided you legally own that many movies and games to dump onto it. Plus it'll emulate nearly any console before N64, and partially N64, including PS1. And old computer games too. Not to mention you can set up samba shares, sharing from or two the xbox from your network. It'll stream 1000's of shoutcast stations even the 24/7 Art stream, and youtube videos. Plus you can have it contact IMDB to get movie info for what you have. At one point there was a working hulu plugin, and there are some other video streaming plugs for it. Plus it'll give you a 3 day weather.com forcast for 3 stored cities that you choose.

Plus the modded xbox lets you control movies from a control, no need for the remote control and dongle. Games are really cheap now, and still have good visual quality.

The legitimate reason you would want the movies and games on the drive is that it saves wear and tear on your optical drives, and loads extremely faster. You can also get a usb adapter, so you can use FAT and FAT32 thumb drives for quick content, and it'll also run a keyboard and mouse from USB, and even linux. The network conection is 100Mbps in XBMC, and you can plug the wire into a WRT-DD wireless router, or repeater, and not have wires all over your house to enjoy it.

There are some decent RP games on the xbox, including Knights of the Old Republic one and two.

I did play Ultima Online for a while, then later on, I found free shards you could play it on, so no monthly fee, and some of the free shards have cooler features than the pay one. Plus recently you could download the latest UO legally from EA, for free.

Ok I shut up now.

The Holy Grails of Gaming in my universe....

How do you know he doesn't?

I used my third eye. Actually I used to play ultima online about ten years ago...when it was fun. I used to pay my rent by fishing up sos bottles and selling them on ebay. Now I'm playing Neverwinter Nights 2 on a public server. I'm and Dungeons and Dragons nerd from way back.
