I laughed when the wise guy called in to say October 31, 2011 would see one of the largest cases of identity theft as millions dressed up and impersonated other people. So Ian launches into his patented Punnet rants about other governments compromising our personal information and how we could see something on a large scale.......totally not getting the joke.

This was my favorite - I loved it.  I was quite surprised and very dissappointed that Ian didn't get it.  *sigh*

I know I'm way late with it, but Ians show on 12-12 re secret banking is fascinating. Guest is great and he's good at simplifying something that could otherwise be incredibly complicated

By the way, someone did ask Ian why Art was not doing the show this year. Ian said "Art chose not to do it this year", and that was that.

Vampire Bear was an awesome story.

I just listened to that hour this morning.  Ian's reaction to him had me laughing pretty hard.

Vampire bear was fan-freakin'-tastic

belvorine vs. sasquatch - who wins that fight?

anagrammy

A minimum requirement for being a C2C host is an open mind.  There is no way in hell a nice guy like Ian can project a truly open mind when he is a CLERGYMAN!  Can Ian be a carnival barker?  Can he interview devil worshippers without preaching?  It's one thing to have a personal opinion, being a lapsed Catholic or being "spiritual but not religious," but a clergyman of a mainstream religion?  Really?

I noticed the finality of the signoff and the voice quaver.  Ian stated it was an honor for him to have had the opportunity to host so much over the holidays (unexpectedly due to Art's quitting), then he said we were probably all sick of him and other hosts ought to have a chance. Sounds like he didn't actually know if he was going to get a contract renewal and had some doubts.

I like him because I like passionate people even if I don't share their POV. I don't think Clear Channel thinks like me --they have to have interchangeability.

^^^^

If Ian leaves, then I truly have no use for C2C anymore.

For a few weeks last year he just had the absolute best run of topics IN YEARS .

If they get rid of Ian, it's a clear sign that management is indeed smoking some strong, potent form of crack cocaine.

It can be the only explanation.

i still want to know who wins in a deathmatch: belvorine or sasquatch?

That's an easy one - Belvorine in a heartbeat - the whole abdomen biting and draining thing?

Sas won't know what hit him

he may be a clergyman but he's not a fundamentalist.  or maybe he is.  Ian is my favorite host regardless.  i don't see a 'fundamentalist' getting a hair transpant or writing a book for children with a title that includes the word 'butt'.  because fundamentalists don't like things that are DIRTY.  unless they are in a motel room with a hooker

"The Rev." Ted Haggard was a fundamentalist.

Looks like Ian is still there, for now;

Saturday January 8, 2011
Joining Ian Punnett, author Faye Hueston shares her personal story of battling environmental illness and her search for a cure. In the first hour, cceanographer Curtis Ebbesmeyer will comment on recent findings on the "plastic patch" floating in the Pacific.

Sorry Ian - can't do the whacky medicine shows - that's Snoory's venue. Just downloaded what I heard was a good shoot-'em-up movie called Harry Brown. Click goes c2c.

Oh no - your guest just started taling about homeopathy, and is allergic to everything - these cases have been almost universally been proven as psychosomatic - I think I'm gonna:

HAL 9000

I actually have no idea - it was posted somewhere deep in the depths of this forum somewhere, so figured I might be able to use it one day.

Now my question is - since she appears to be pretty cute, would you kiss her, EVEN IF SHE DID NOT HAVE A DRINK OF ANYTHING  after her "incident?"

Cookinghand

Ian is my fav host of Coast! Even though, I am not a religious person, I love Ian's fresh way of interviewing. He doesn't push his religious views into the conversation, unless asked too...I think he gives rational, realistic point of views, and I am glad to finally hear some let's say "meaningful"  intellect from the host's point  when Saturday finally rolls around. Go IAN!

Hmmm... very good question - I'll have to save that gif and pose the question to friends when we're inebriated... she is indeed cute!

Something told me that when Ian complimented Sharon Stiteler, the Bird Chick, on her new glasses, that she must be a hottie.  Uh, yeah...nice glasses.  The suspenders ain't bad either.

And to my surprise he actually has the predictions list from last year.
i would die laughing if i could hear the following exchange...

ian:  and tonight i'm hosting the annual prediction show.  it will be fun, but we'll have no predictions from last year.

caller:  why?

ian:  because they're locked away in the "bell family vault."

caller:  why didn't you just go listen to last year's show and write them down?

ian:  i don't know.

caller:  ah.

ian:  yep.  indeed.  thanks for calling.

caller:  you got it.

ian:  mmhmm.

upcoming Ian show ...

Odd Coincidences/True Prices
Date:   01-15-11
Host:   Ian Punnett
Guests:   Russ Baker, Eduardo Porter
In the first half, Ian Punnett is joined by investigative reporter, Russ Baker, who'll discuss an odd string of "coincidental" anniversaries that tie in with not only the military-industrial complex, but with the recent tragedy in AZ.

Then, Eduardo Porter - from the NY Times editorial board, uncovers the true story behind the prices we pay, and what those prices are actually telling us.

6-10pm PT: Art Bell - Somewhere in Time returns to 12/12/96 when nurse Joyce Riley talked about Gulf War Syndrome.

....

not sure how smart it is doing a conspiracy theory piece about the tragedy in AZ so soon.  if ever.  might blow up in Ian's/C2C's face

Can't be any worse than George using the event to get the gun fetishists all worked up about "Comin' to take yer guns!".

b_dubb

i like how the gun fetishists translate gun control directly to 'we're coming to kill you and your family'.  fucking retards

valdez

The demented Russ Baker on again?  My disdain for this man knows no bounds.
