What is the deal with all the cheese-ball ads on the Coast website?

Seriously!  Do they need the extra income that badly that they have to ruin the website with all those detracting flashing and mouse-over ads?

At least they are progressing.  The old website looked like it was designed for Mosaic.  This new one, with the way they have the ads plastered everywhere, is only ten years out of date.

I will bet money that they did the new site in-house.  A mistake in my mind. Much like the government being the worst enity to solve the current financial crisis.  Since they, in fact, when the entire cause if it.  The new website should have been developed by an outsider.  Someone with a fresh perspective on things.

Those drive me insane too!  I can only hope they get enough complaints that they'll find another way to make the ads visible (yeah - hope springs eternal!)

Hehe -- yeah.

The configuration of that site and everything associated with it is fucked up.  I got the newsletter, briefly, our of curiosity.  I unsubscribed  - but still get it - and when I go to unsub again the page says there is no such person on their mailing list.

Professional hucksters. They will sell anything for a buck.  Further proof they collectively dont give a shit about anything but money.

I remember way back when , Art was hawking magnetic water treatment devices (ineffective psuedoscientific junk that doesnt have a chance at working).

It all has the ring of new age horse-shit . Peroxide curing cancer, free electricity, free online psychic readings, blah blah blah..... keee-rist on a krutch.

You know, the more I experience the death spiral of C2c, the more I think I need to find a new source of information. There is too much chaff and not hardly a kernel of wheat.

You know - I mostly have listened to Art on Streamlink. And, until recently, they left the ads off - even the ones done by the host. (Now you do hear some of them from Noory - I haven't heard Knapp or Ian do any yet) But once in a while - I'd listen to a very old show or an MP3 that had been done before they were cutting ads from streamlink, and i'd hear Art go into this snake-oil act.  I accepted it as a reality of broadcasting, but it did make me blush.

MV/Liberace!

haha, yeah, i remember the magnetic water filtration system ads.  from time to time i hear art reading the copy for that company when i listen to the stream.  i'll have to find some audio of him reading that ad and post it here.  haha, yeah, that's classic.

That reminds me of the ads for magnetic pants I used to hear on a different radio show. The host would also deride other brands of magnetic pants, saying they used the wrong kind of magnets, and insist that only the ones made by his sponsor were effective.  :o
