Juan

There are rumors it was a real launch, and we shot it down.

It's starting to feel like 1963/4 all over again.

Yippee... we are all going to die.

I had a hunch about the checkout girl at the grocery store I just saw today

So I asked her about Hawaii

Turns out she's from there and her parents were completely freaked out and she's still scared

So I didn't hit on her at all

Seemed apropos

Speaking of Pucker Factor.

Never clench your butt cheeks if you have explosive diarrhea.  You'll blow yer head off!

So you're saying there's a silver lining even in a mushroom cloud?

They need to name and shame the employee who accidentally hit the button during a shift change. And whatever team, or government contractor, came up with a system that a single "button push" can cause such an alert to be sent out and it takes 38 minutes to realize it was sent out and to correct the information.

This, of course, is assuming it was an "accident" and not a "test," a hack, or a real alert that was dealt with (though I think there would be more commentary if the latter was the case.)

I don’t think it took 38 minutes to send out the correction. I think the cell networks got overloaded and it took 38 minutes for some people to receive them.

But you never know. The first message was obviously preprogrammed. Getting a correction approved and gaining access to the alert network probably took time.

Maybe but SMS usually gets through quicker than calls in overloaded situations.
CNN says:
"A second emergency alert was sent to phones in Hawaii 38 minutes after the initial message confirming the false alarm. CNN was told by a viewer in Hawaii that both the initial threat warning and the message of false alarm more than 30 minutes later came across the TV warning notification system."

Still a system where one button push and some shift change procedures seems suspect. The EMS, or whatever they are calling now, has problems. Of which I've posted here several times before. But THAT was a yuuge one.

I'd settle for one of these guys getting punched in the face in public and televised...and it has to be a real punch hard enough to break that guy's glasses in half. ;)

"Thank God it was all a mistake.....think I'll watch some porn."

I wonder how many threw up when it was known it was a false alarm. Adrenalin does that.

This makes me think that a lot of the recent meteor sightings might actually be missiles. ???

Not only am I now fully convinced that "Lady" Gaga is a tranny-grown-in-a-vat, now I think Madonna is one as well.

Note that I think this is cool. Don't get me wrong here.

You'd still hit that up? ???

It is now being claimed the reason it took so long for the Hawaiian government to correct the missile alert was because Democrat Governor couldn't remember his twitter password.
