Drug War 2

Ever since I saw Traffic, I was kind of against drugs (as they are illegal). When I saw the little kids die in that movie, I thought, even suburban goodies who bought drugs were enabling these terrorists. Just like our gas guzzlers help oil sheiks send funds to 9-11 plotters.

Most of the weed people buy comes from Mexico and I think this war is good because it will help legalize weed and maybe put the American policy on Mexico on a serious course. If there's a demand for coke and weed, why can't we establish some kind of contracting in Mexico like we do in Iraq to regulate it? Our military can beat this cartel I'm sure. If they are buying weapons from the US, I don't get why we can't stop them.

I'm a big proponent of weed, legal weed. I have worked as a bartender and I'm pretty anti-booze. I think it's much safer to listen to pharcyde and smoke weed at home with your friends (unity) than to down shots and get pissed about chicks rejecting you or your bf talking to another girl!?

Sounds like the border states are really seeing a rise in crime and they're discovering freaking grenades all over the place belonging to these people. I hope Obama will take this opportunity to pwnd mexico over this and find a way to make $$$$ for us over this. It's much better than oil drilling!

I saw a "debate" between Ron Paul and Stephen (Oreilly's butt boy) Baldwin. What a douchebag Baldwin is. I know his claim to fame is rehab and evanglicalism, but that doesn't mean his addictions should dictate what others should be allowed to do in America.

It may be a regional thing, but aound here people tend to go for the Canadian hydroponic stuff.  ;D

How do you know for sure?! I mean you can buy weed and be told it's from hawaii or the north, but you don't really know!

Ah, one of my fields of expertise.

It can come from anywhere...a good portion is even grown illegally here in the US. However 'where' and 'who' the weed came from doesn't really matter to most, at least it shouldn't. I personally know a guy in California that grows ridiculous amounts of high-grade stuff, the kind that is engineered on a molecular level to produce the maximum percentage of THC(active ingredient). These seeds can and are purchased out of Canada, where they have a very Amsterdamesque way of enforcing drug laws. Chances are if it is high grade, at least the seed came out of Canada.

I feel and hope its only a matter of time before the US is raking in the dough from taxed marijuana.

That must be what I was thinking of.  As someone who, as a young adult, could have stepped right out of That 70's Show - and due to no particular reason other than waning interest and having a young child, had not indulged for MANY MANY years.

On break from work on day in the late 90's (a new job for me) some co-workers asked if I wanted to "go for a drive."  A friendly gesture - so why not?

A pipe was passed during a little roll around the neighborhood (and no, loose-goose as I am I DO NOT like the idea of someone driving under the influence - even of strong cold medicine!  But - too late . . . and I was not the one behind the wheel)

Anyway - I took a toke or five.  Something that I would have been able to handle in the 70's.

HOLY CRAP!

I had to ask to go home.  Thankfully - it was a hippy-dippy sort of office, and I was a good worker.  They just said "oh sure" and that was that.  Later that summer at the company picnic  I fessed up to my boss about WHY I had to leave. She thought it was hilarious.

I still both smile and blush at the memory.  I guess there ARE some uses for careful genetic manipulation.   ;D

The pharmaceutical industry will raze the earth to stop it! Do you know how many people on anti-depressants are going to stop taking that shit and take weed instead?

I agree with Ev, most is domestic hydroponics as it has become easier to do now with technology and has taken off since it has been deemed "illegal" to use thermo-imaging to peek through a residence but it is still done or look at energy usage.

Quote'where' and 'who' the weed came from doesn't really matter

so right it is based on strain and genetics now, it has all been manipulated for high THC content and not so much growing conditions such as geographic locations any more.

They can just hop on the reefer express.

Announcer: Marijuanix may cause coughing, red eye, and an unintended weight gain due to a rise in appetite levels. You should seek immediate attainment of pizza if you experience a high lasting longer than four hours, as this may be a sign of a serious side effect. Ask your doctor if Marijuanix is right for you.

It could happen.

You are so right in what they will do and be successful as us Monsanto at it and it is a shame because the SSRI's are very dangerous to those who take them and the people that love them. I wonder why the government has a list of all people who are on them or have an Rx for them? I wonder how many school shooters are or were on them (the answer is a very, very high % of them close to 85% if I remember the FBI study right)? They keep changing the molecule tweaking it to keep the patten running.

What are you all high on fucking goofballs, you dang dopeheads!

Weed is a gateway to junk food!  Say NO! to "weed tits".

I begged my doctor for one of these anti deps once. I took it after a very bad break up and all I can say is, it didn't do shit. The working out and alcohol was a better combo. I'm very into weed and pro-weed eventhough I've only smoked 2 times in my life. I had great experiences and I'm scared of with starting smoking is 1. having to do a pee test 2. the weird shit I will do like post strange stuff on this site. I'm bad enough as it is.
She gave me samples to save me from a record of bad shit I think.

Also, Phan is the best poster here. LMAO and now this.

Sorry MV - bad advice for someone who may have to pee in a cup. But you know that.

As for weed as an Anti-D - that's also usually a bad idea.  It can reduce, not raise serotonin levels after the fact.  That's why I got me my trusty 5-htp  ;D

Its been a long time since I partook of any recreational substances but lets say that during the 60s and early 70s I probably lost more drugs than most folks have done. I didn't learn much from the experiences except that I'm much more pleasant to be around when I'm coherant and not babbling about the electric patterns on the walls, the way a color smells or wondering where my shoes went. I do admit to a certain fondness of spirits such as scotch but not to the point of falling off a bar stool. I think pot should be legal like micro breweries are.

Frys Girl

OK maybe not as an anti-D but what I'm saying is, anti-D is so over prescribed. People need to mellow out and weed is great for that.

ALSO maybe the pharm industry will be cool with this weed legality stuff if they are in charge of it?????$$$$$

No no A THOUSAND TIMES NO!  I'd rather see it handled by alcohol and tobacco.  Drug companies are - in actual fact - like the (often unfair) low-life manipulator image of the lawyer.

God SAVE us if Big Pharma is in charge of weed.

I agree. They will start churning out bullshit green tea weed type crap and over dramatize the meditative/yogi stereotypes about weed.

Also, That ?????$$$$$ came out weird.  and funny. The ??? are on the :( head. Brilliant.

bobcollum

Enormous corporations are one of the more unsavory things this life has to offer.

On another note, i've wondered how much law enforcement would lose if pot were legal, mainly in personnel, I guess.

But then like booze there will still be plenty of illegal things you could do with weed, like not report it to the IRS and in turn distribute it tax free to others, selling in a school zone, because it would still be prohibited under age 18 if not 21, and driving under the influence....surely others as well. You can't usually repeal a major law and not have to have further legislation passed to tie up loose ends. For instance here in Massachusetts a proposition was voted on last election to make up to an ounce of pot a civil offense punishable by a $100 fine, so now I hear about all types of new potential legislation pertaining to smoking in public and whether it should warrant a search of a motor vehicle. Not to mention the "evil" George Soros threw NORML $300,000 or so to help the cause, but I heard that guy eats kittens.    ;)
