Remember, that payload included the weight of the fuel and crew members and every other thing needed. One article I looked up said the bomb load was about 2,300 lbs. Not exactly a block buster load.

I agree, but that was me quoting Dietrich.  I think I posted those in italics too.  What I was attempting to show was that although Dietrich may have correct nomenclature for some of the aircraft, he definitely lies about ranges specifically, and operational uses later in the war.

And you are correct about maximum weight to include the crew, fuel, and armamament including defensive weapons such as cannons and machine guns.
