The identification and naming of racism today has reached the mighty standards of UFO sightings, Ghost recordings, and the Chupacabra - all blurred, inaudible, and basically without substantial evidence. 

At least at this stage in our human evolution there will always be people who are prejudiced against others for reasons known to themselves and maybe shared across limited sub-cultural commonalities.  Social Division mongers such as Obama and other social justice opportunists have almost destroyed legitimate movements against remnant racism in this country by lowering the bar on what actually is racism.  Races other than "Black" are beginning to be perceived as "racist" simply because they exist, and by existing, economically and academically displace "Blacks" and others from limited resource opportunities.

If someone does not like you, or criticizes an idea you have, earns more money, or earned a higher degree than you - more than likely this is not evidence of racism, but simply the phenomenon of living in the 'World' as it is today.

And a few NFL players are making a similar statement about the current American flag by kneeling instead of standing. The powers that be clearly are confused about when to step in and what to disallow. The flags are not the problem, trying to cowtow to some people's perceptions is.

In 1989, at the Art Institute of Chicago, there was an audience participation piece titled What is the proper way to display the American flag? The flag was displayed on the floor below a notebook on a shelf and you were supposed to step on the flag and write in your response. Most of the responses were rude.






Now regarding the situation in the NFl, I think that each player should have their own personal flag and if some of them want to kneel on it then they should and those that want to salute it can do so to their personal flag. Everyone wins.

If you want to talk about the larger social implications of how things got this bad and how the Democrats programs may have played into it fine but I think when any particular group or subset of people seem to be being systematically profiled, harassed, incarcerated and now again, after such things had been abolished from our society almost half a century, murdered by the people who are supposed to be serving and protecting them then that group has a right to say, "WTF?!" and make some sort of protest to draw attention to it. I understand the police have a side too but come on! If it was white people getting shot at this rate there would be congressional hearings into it or something at least.

They are kneeling to protest the killing of black people in the USA, not that the flag is a symbol of racism.  Its a publicity stunt.

As you say, he wants the limelight as much as he wants to honestly protest. I think the owners and the NFL dropped the ball as far as how they've handled these protests in most cases.
