Poll 2: What time should the live show air?

I'd like
1) Saturday
2) 12:01AM Eastern

It's only trolls when people say things that you don't like.
Maybe they have a different definition of trolling.

People there is stop and there is stop.  Do stop any harassing of SiriusXM If there was any. Do NOT stop spreading the word about what happened.  I found this on Keith Rowland's site:

The Dark Riders go to the web and post many graphics supporting Art with #FreeArtBell. Here are some of the best of them.
While Art would prefer you not spam the SiriusXM Facebook page any longer… Feel free to post on your own pages.

* Willie Nelson (https://twitter.com/willienelson)

* ZZ Top (https://twitter.com/ZZTop)
* Billy Gibbons from ZZtop (https://twitter.com/BillyFGibbons)

List others please.

They have the numbers. Let's get the Scorpion Army out there.

Great video. Man what a concept.  If Art gets paroled I want to see her smile. ;)
Art Bell is asked what us common folk can do. He says "I don't know, ...hold up a sign saying "Free Art Bell?" and look what happens!

Don't give up hope dude.  Art Bell appeared on the Gabcast so he just might appear on lesser shows.  You never know.  Keep working on it.  I think it would be a tremendous asset to your ratings.  A lot of people  would listen if they had advance notice (date, time, show name, host name, URL for your podcast, etc).  Then they'd know what a nice guy you really are.  Good plan.

How was he forced out? ... Why would they spend lots of dosh getting a show up and running to deliberately kill it six weeks later?
IMHO the quality issues were not being addressed and when solutions were proposed, they were ignored.  Art Bell said "I was in a situation where the road forward was not viable." You are right if you are saying that they didn't expect him to go "all-in"", but he made the decision to enforce a standard of quality for the show. There are ways Sirius could help with that if they wanted to.

As to why they might refuse solutions that would benefit the bottom line--I used to believe that the profit-motive reigns supreme in a corporation. These days, other factors (the power elite, politics, feelings, control of information, etc.) seem to be just as important as the stockholders and the bottom line.

Yes. The suits negotiate, not the broadcaster. This is not on George as much you may wish it were.
The other guy is of no consequence.  He is just filler--proof that the public will accept whatever we are supposed to accept.  Art Bell sort of quit, in a way.  We used to call it being "forced out".  If he stayed, they'd make sure that the show would degenerate into mediocrity and he'd have to retire with a whimper.  This way, there is a chance for him to come back and do some more great radio. Even if it has to be commercial-free narrow-casting for a while,  it can still be great radio.  The best anywhere.

The only possible way I can accept C2C on Sirius is if they traded shows.  More likely they are telling us to go procreate amongst ourselves.

Someone wants Art off.  Someone powerful wants him off.  Sirius was an attempt to wreck him and he wasn't falling for it. IMHO

I don't get those who don't get Art honoring the NC.  Isn't that a legal agreement?  If he just popped up elsewhere and began a new show, wouldn't he get sued?   I'd guess if there's a legal way out of it he's pursuing that option.
It is as though they expect him to publically state that he has no intention of honoring his contract.  What would the legal consequences be for doing something like that?

Art could you please post your contract and highlight the non-complete clause? Also could you please send me $10,000.00 in unmarked bills. Also could you please send me an mp3 file that I can use as the voice mail on my phone? Something like, "Andy's not here right now but please leave a message after the beep". Oh and also can you recommend a good replacement for pizza punch? Also can you please make it clear to the rest of the posters here that my 5 calls to the show were not the reason that Dark Matter is no more? That is all.
Nice Try Jaz but we all know it was your fault the show was cancelled whether or not Art Bell himself exonerates you.

Art it is good that your wife's family is safe. Art you should have keep talking to xm about the problem and NOT QUITbut who cares. The bottom line is YOU HANDLE IT THE WRONG WAYon your end. The best then you could have done is to stay on the air and work with the IT people with XM.
If the non-compete is to be enforced, better to get that clock ticking ASAP.  Unless they will let him on for now AND start the clock.  But they aren't talking.

Here is what I didn't like about Sirius

Art was the ONLY program I listened to. 500-other programs that are completely disinteresting, is meaningless.

I don't like paying to listen and then being chained to a device or a computer to listen to it - try having art on in the Kitchen and your office simultaneously.

The program would drop off for no reason.

I love listening to Art, there simply is no other radio personality that comes close, but listening HAS to be at the listener's convenience.

Lastly, for those college graduates at Syrius: Radio is NOT TV, and only juveniles listen to Howard Stern regurgitating the same shtick since 1985...
Similar experience.  I bought one of those FM transmitters CCrane hawks to take care of the problem of being tethered, but it is still  frustrating to have to go back and reset the iPhone or computer after timeouts/dropouts.

Too bad they couldn't make it work.  We got along without Art Bell for a decade and if we have to wait a while for another show, we'll be ok.  And we'll listen as soon as he comes back.

I've had the Sirius internet stream drop out on me a few times when I was listening to the show live, and a few times while listening on demand. In addition to this, it actually still gives me the " Are you still listening" prompt every hour and a half (I thought Art got them to extend it to four hours?).

At any rate, I paid for a full year up front so I hope Art isn't quitting yet... fml
People have posted that Sirius is giving pro-rated refunds upon cancellation.  Hope this is true.

she mentioned they are tracking the number of cancellations.

Apologies to all.   Guildnavigator is right.  I listened again and the word is "Baby".  I still don't think we're in danger of losing Art.

"Do you listen to “Dark Matter”?  Do you enjoy it?  I know many of you do, but you may not have found the right radio yet. Well, congratulations! Tonight, you have found the right radio.  It’s called “The Grace Victoria WI-FI Internet Radio.”

It was a pre-announcement:

Would he want people to rush off and buy a $200 radio for nothing?  It's a done deal.  Also, check out the 5-year expiration dates on the "on-demand" Dark Matter shows.  That wasn't always that way.

I think Art is playing chess/poker and we do not see the whole board/hand.
That's what makes it so much fun to speculate.  It is like the radio show.  Not enough data so the mind can run wild.  If the live discussion thread  is true that there is no longer a "non-compete" contract in force...wow, a lot of possibilities there.
