Me neither, as you probably recall I joined Bellgab as a Noory defender until I realized just who and what he was after the Oates interview. Heather has done nothing to deserve the level of attacks she gets other than to attempt to keep Art's chair warm during a really bad situation. It's BS that she takes the flak that she does.

I think some people forget there is a human being at the end of an insult. I think others must have very bitter lives.

My response was not directed at you specifically. But I didn't want to search for similar statements that posit she deserves it because she is there.

No one is above criticism. Hundreds of pages of insults for less than 100 hours of radio is more than criticism.

I agree in theory but most of the criticism revolves around how her voice is annoying and Art's is great, she doesn't know how to handle callers & Art does, she doesn't know the subject matter as well as Art, she's not asking questions like Art would, etc.  She's not Art.  She's not as good as Art because he hosted radio programs for longer than she's been alive.  It's not that hard to grasp is it?  My point is that picking her apart for not being Art is useless.  She will never be Art.  Move on.

Listen or don't listen.  I'm sure she's well aware that she is not Art.

It has definitely reduced my time here on BG...I'm sure Dave doesn't frequent here either...and if he does, it sure hasn't really bothered him to any great extent...

I've tried to listen to the show with Heather, and I wish her all the best...but I have to be honest and say I just wanted to hear Art...

I know there are these hints on FB that Heather is "filling in"...that must be a very difficult situation to be in for her...

If Art does a podcast in the future, I'll listen for sure...but in terms of being a "devoted fan"...well, I guess I'm not anymore...

All the criticism can be summed up thusly:  Heather is not Art, therefore we are unsatisfied.

I subscribed to listen to Art.  Yes, Heather is not Art but she's not a skilled, experienced host, either.  I listen to other talk show hosts who are not Art, and fortunately, not Noory.  I'll be cancelling my subscription before the next payment is due, unless Art miraculously reappears in some capacity.

Well I agree with you and Auslandia here, there defiantly seem to be people who joined after Art left to say shit about him and Heather, I'm just pointing out that to label it all as personal attacks and therefore criticism of Heather is invalid is not a way forward.

What would help, and I've said this before, is changing the show name. MITD was the name of Art's show based on a song written for Art. Art may think he's helping by saying he'll 'occasionally sit in!' and dangling a carrot but I think its actually hurting the show, leaving Heather in the ever present shadow of Art.

She needs to change the name and maybe even topics, focus more on what she wants to do. Again I never really listen so not sure how valid this is but I did see some of the guests she had on and they were all Art Bell type guests. I heard her on Gabcast recently and she was telling a story about when she was a roadie and it was far more interesting than the one open lines show I heard. But again that's one show so its hardly enough for me to base an opinion on the whole show.

I could be wrong though. Perhaps the personal attacks would lessen if it was no longer her 'filling in' for Art.
