This Is Not About Art.

I just learned something.
Ironically, while seeking solace
from a deepening depression.

While questing for a
little cheer up,
I didn't see the deep rut
before me.  I fell in.

I think I'll stay a while
maybe longer, I don't know.
It doesn't matter now.
Indefinitely?  It doesn't matter now.

Yeah.  Christmas definitely sucks.  Back to the bunker, I should have never come out.

That is cool that you quit drinking. I hate the short amount of daylight that we get this time of year but it makes me happy as shit to know that each day is going to have more daylight going forward

Well, there's that.

Well, as you say, drinking is not an answer but it is too bad that Christmas (and other holidays) for many become so stressful, depressing, etc. Get outside, even in winter, get some natural vitamin D and look how awesome the world really is. Then, hopefully, spend time with friends, family, and pets. The younger, and older, the better because at those ages I've found people actually know what is important.

Christmas is pressure and baggage served on a pile of snow and frozen dog turds.  Can't wait for Spring.

There are a handful of people on this forum that I feel cheated in not knowing face to face. Star, you are one of those people. Depression is a nasty thing. At times it is as sneaky as a ninja and other times it is like a freight train. There are no healthy overnight fixes. And yeah the holidays can make one feel quite alone, you are not alone. You aren't that far way come down and spend a couple weeks. You can meet my family... umm well I don't want to compound your troubles.

Onan, I'm curious, in your work did you deal a lot of depression from your clients?   I'm not trying to be insensitive about the topic but it seems as though people who write about how they are depressed can appear to be just looking for attention, and perhaps that's something different?   How many times are you supposed to give people this attention over and over and over?   Is there some fix or is it clinical and forever?   I had a friend who died a few years ago from overdosing on pills (supposedly accidentally) and I don't know if it was because he was depressed or not (he was depressed though), so I'm really not trying to be an ass here.

Interesting (and sad) movie on suicide..
